The police arrested innocent Debbie Webster as she took the blame for the car pile-up that caused Billy Mayhew’s death. But, as Carl Webster continues to go undetected, will Debbie end up going to prison? Debbie’s been arrested (Credit: ITV) Carl frames Debbie for Corriedale crash Viewers will definitely remember Carl Webster’s horrible plot to frame Debbie Webster for the Corriedale car pile-up on Monday night (Jan 5). He been drunk when driving the car that crashed into Billy’s minibus carrying guests home from Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding. If he’d been sober, he could’ve seen what was in front of him and swerved the crash ahead. Article Continues Below Read all the latest Spoilers It was because of this crash that Billy Mayhew lost his life after being trapped in the damaged vehicle and being engulfed in flames. Carl has moved his sister’s unconscious body into the driver’s seat of his car before leaving, not even checking if she was alive. He hoped that it’d look like she’d caused the crash herself, and her dementia would mean that she wouldn’t know any different. Despite Kevin seeing Carl behind the wheel when he left the wedding, Carl made out that Debbie had swapped positions with him after realising he was too drunk. And, now, this has landed her in huge trouble. Can Debbie avoid prison? (Credit: ITV) Police arrest Debbie Webster in Coronation Street In today’s ITVX episode, the police arrested Debbie and took her in for questioning in a shock turn of events. She was interrogated, with Debbie explaining that Carl was feeling ill so she’d switched positions with him. When it was then revealed that Carl was drunk, Debbie was accused of also being over the limit. She then explained that she was concussed when they found her, not drunk. She has dementia and thought it was safer than allowing Carl to drive. But, poor Debbie was accused of causing the minibus crash and killing Billy Mayhew. At the end of the episode, Carl Webster (having lost his bag of money and unable to flee to Germany) took Debbie up on her offer to move in with her and Ronnie. Kevin was livid, seeing through Carl’s lies, begging Debbie to reconsider. He warned ‘you’ll go to jail because of him.’ But, could Kevin be right? Will the truth ever come out? And, will Carl sit back and watch his sister pay the price for his own actions?
