Actor Jonathan Howard has seemingly ‘ruled out’ Carl Webster as the Coronation Street flashforward murder victim.

On April 23rd, which is just weeks away, Betsy Swain will find a dead body on the Street. But, who this belongs to is currently a mystery.

Carl Webster’s name is one of five in the running to be the possible murder victim, but is his future now safe?

Coronation Street flashforward murder

Recently on the cobbles, a flashforward scene aired. This saw Betsy Swain giving a police statement after discovering a dead body on the Street.

The event plays out on April 23rd, on the day of Carla and Lisa’s wedding. With Betsy enjoying the celebrations, she’s seen stumbling on the Street with Lauren but then lets out a huge scream when she finds a corpse outside.

Talking to the police, Betsy then reveals that she knew the person the body belonged to. But, who is it?

Well, there are five potential victims on the list – Carl, Maggie, Megan, Theo, and Jodie.

Each villain has enemies in Weatherfield that would most likely wish to give them a piece of their mind. Or worse. But, who is ultimately murdered?

Jonathan Howard ‘rules out’ Carl Webster murder with social media post

Despite Carl Webster being in the list of five possible victims, Jonathan Howard has seemingly ‘ruled out’ Carl Webster being the one to die on the 23rd.

Taking to Instagram yesterday (Wednesday, April 8), he shared a photo of himself on set and lapping up the sunshine with his fellow co-stars.

Smiling alongside Alan Halsall, Vinta Morgan, and Michael Le Vell, he captioned the photo: “Sun finally came out to say hello on the cobbles today…”

With the ITV soap filming scenes around 6-8 weeks in advance of transmission, this would mean that Carl outlives the murder scene in a few weeks time. Of course though, this could all be a red herring.

One fan commented: “Either he doesn’t die or he does but is throwing us off the scent.”

Another person added: “Oh, so one less murder victim suspect. I’m pleased.”

A third follower shared: “Well I’m guessing Carl doesn’t die!! Spoiler alert lol,” while another replied: “I fear he’s bluffing. I really hope Carl stays, redemption arc!”

So, does Jonathan’s post actually rule Carl out of the upcoming murder? Or, is it all for show?
