Billy’s loved ones and the rest of the community gather in the Rovers on Thu, Jan 8 to pay tribute to the much-loved vicar. Viewers will know that Billy Mayhew sadly lost his life on Monday night (January 5). This was during the one-off soap crossover Corriedale. He’d been driving guests home from Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding in a minibus when the vehicle was involved in a huge car pile-up. Billy was sadly trapped in the driver’s seat, and manipulative Theo left him to die instead of saving him. Todd watched on in agony as flames engulfed the van – with Billy inside. Someone’s arrested Elsewhere on the Street, the police are desperate to find out the cause of the huge car pile-up as their investigations kicks up a level. With police looking for answers, it isn’t long before one Weatherfield resident is arrested and faces being charged for the accident. This comes as Debbie Webster takes to the stand in Coronation Street spoilers for next week. This is after Carl Webster stooped to a new low by moving her unconscious body into the driver’s seat of his car before scarpering. This was to avoid the blame being pinned on him as he was drunk at the time of the crash.
