Emmerdale's Will, AI Will

We were all rather a little creeped out after last night’s episode of Emmerdale (Tuesday, September 3), as Will fell victim to a deep fake image.

Receiving an email and message from his tormenter, Will showed a horrified Jimmy a video of “himself” made with AI.

But, fans have now accused the soap of copying a very similar storyline from a very famous cobbled street…

AI Will ‘has proof’

Fans will know by now that Will is being tormented by a mystery person. And, this person clearly knows that he slept with Rose.

At first he received a bunch of roses with the message ‘I know what you did’ on the card. Will being the hopeless romantic that he is then passed the bouquet over to Kim, making out that he bought them for her! Who said romance is dead?

Things started to get more intense last night though as Will and Jimmy both received a ‘surprise’ work email. This included deep fake porn images with Will and Rose’s faces on.

Will then received a ping on his phone and was horrified to find that an AI video had been made of “him.”

The video saw technology that very spookily looked just like Will declare: “I don’t need proof, I have proof.” At this point, Jimmy urged his mate to go the police as the tormentor clearly wasn’t messing around.

We honestly don’t think we’ll be able to sleep at night if we ever see another version of AI Will or anyone else again, so for our sake we hope that Will goes to the police sooner rather than later!

Hold on, fans have seen this storyline on soap before…

Fans of both Emmerdale and Coronation Street have now realised that two current storylines on both of the soaps are very similar. And, they’re now accusing the Dales based soap of copying its rival.

Will’s deepfake storyline was recently done over the cobbles in the form of Abi being the victim of deepfake videos at the hands of Stefan Brent.

Corrie has also aired scenes of Leanne Battersby’s late son Oliver in AI form.

One fan commented: “Deep fake AI, sorry Emmerdale, I didn’t realise I was watching Corrie [bleep.]”

Another viewer asked: “Why are they copy and pasting the deep fake story from Corrie?”

A third viewer added: “What is it with the ITV soaps being obsessed with AI and deep fakes may I ask? It’s like they want their shows to get axed.”

A fourth fan joked: “AI Will is a product of the Institute from Corrie. You only get him when you’re a Level 14.”
