‘Just bring April back’ scream Emmerdale fans as storyline is being ‘dragged out’

Fans are calling for April in Emmerdale to come back, as they criticise the storyline for being ‘dragged out.’
On Christmas Day, Marlon discovered that April was not in her room. And she hasn’t been seen since.
Viewers saw her getting into a car at the end of the Christmas episode, but we remain in the dark about who the driver was.
April in Emmerdale remains missing
In the weeks that have followed, Marlon and the rest of his family, have gone on a heartbreaking search. But to no success.
After worrying that April may actually be dead, hope was given when it was confirmed that she was spotted on CCTV in Leeds.
With fresh hope, last night’s episode saw Marlon head out in a search around that area. Only he wasn’t the only one who was looking.
Ross has continued his own search for the teen, despite Marlon’s protests that it was his fault. But yesterday, saw the pair forced together on a mission to find the youngster they both care so deeply about.
Despite their team-up, April is still nowhere to be seen. And as three weeks have passed, fans are getting fed up of the storyline.
Some viewers took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their annoyance at the slow progression.

One wrote: “I really don’t get this missing April story. It’s so boring and drawn out. There doesn’t seem to be any substance or real point.”
Another penned: “Can they just bring April back already so we don’t have to deal with this as much.”
Others took to the comment section on Emmerdale’s Instagram to give their opinions.
A viewer wrote: “We know she’s alive. It’s dragging on a bit. Just bring April back.”
Another added: “Dragging on a bit which as a result makes it boring to watch.”
However, one fan hit back, explaining the timescale is to represent real life.
They wrote: “It’s hardly dragging on. It’s only been a few weeks. They have to make it believable. These things do happen in real life so it’s a really good storyline in my opinion.”
The question is; where is April? And why hasn’t she returned home?

April in Emmerdale was last seen three weeks ago, before getting into a car of an unknown person. But as the weeks go on, Marlon has become more and more concerned he may never see his daughter again.
And as many villagers begin to return to their daily activities, it’s down to those who love April the most to try to find her. But where exactly is she?
Here are all the theories on where April in Emmerdale has been.
1. Anthony has taken her
We know Anthony can’t be trusted around children after it was revealed he sexually abused his daughter Ruby when she was growing up.
So with this knowledge, one main theory is that Anthony has taken the young girl. This was suggested by many fans on social media, and has remained a top theory for all three weeks.
At the time of her disappearance, one fan wrote: “Why do I have a feeling Ruby’s dad is involved in the April disappearance.”
Another agreed: “Anthony must have April!”
2. Has she been groomed?
Could April’s disappearance actually be the beginning of an even bigger and darker Emmerdale storyline?
Viewers learned that April had been keeping many secrets from her family, including being on the pill. So now, many fear she has been groomed by someone on the internet.
One fan wrote: “I reckon April has been groomed.”
If so, could that person have taken her? And is she in danger? She certainly looked like she was running away from something on the CCTV footage.
3. Scott Windsor has April in Emmerdale?
April’s mum, Donna, had a half-brother Scott. And while he hasn’t been on the show in years, could April have reached out to family?
Despite not being on the show, Scott has been mentioned a handful of times, and Cathy even stayed with him recently. Was that foreshadowing where April will be?
However, April never seems to mention her uncle Scott. But perhaps Cathy had spoken about staying with him, and this put the idea in April’s head. Fans believe it’s possible.
One wrote: “Please say April has gone to stay with Scott or Kelly. I would love to get a return from them one day!”
Although, as CCTV footage showed April running away, has Scott taken her against her will?
4. Is April in Emmerdale pregnant?
Another popular theory is that April may have run away because of a pregnancy.
This theory took off on social media, after it was discovered she was on the contraceptive pill (which can be in-affective).
So has she been scared of Marlon’s reaction? Or is she afraid of the baby daddy coming to light?
One fan speculated: “Is April going to turn out to be pregnant?”
