Kelly Windsor Share By Kerry Barrett Jun 25 2025 By Kerry Barrett Jun 25 2025 Kelly Windsor was an iconic Emmerdale character who still has strong links in the village and who many fans hope might return one day. She was a troubled tween who became a teen bride. She lied, cheated, stole, seduced older men, and even married Jimmy King in an attempt to claw her way to a fortune. And underneath all the bravado, manipulation and trickery, she had a heart. It was just quite hard to find sometimes! Here’s everything you need to know about Kelly Windsor, including her forgotten son who still lives in Emmerdale! Kelly Windsor and her arrival in Emmerdale Kelly came to the village with her dad Vic Windsor, her stepmum Viv, stepbrother Scott and half-sister Donna. She turned 13 soon after the family arrived and not long after that, a plane crashed on to the village! Talk about arriving with a bang! article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Once the dust had settled after the crash, Kelly had a brief romance with Roy Glover. Then she fell for her teacher, whose name was Tom Bainbridge. She ran away with him but returned home after she found him in bed with another pupil – urgh! After her heart was broken by Tom, Kelly couldn’t trust men. She began having ill-advised romances and one-night stands with older men, including Biff Fowler and Chris Tate. She eventually discovered she was pregnant and told Chris he was the father. Chris – who’d thought he couldn’t have kids after being injured in the plane crash – wanted the baby but Kelly ended up miscarrying after she fell down the stairs after a fight with Kim Tate! Kelly married Roy but it was Scott she wanted (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock) Kelly and Scott By 1998, Kelly and Roy had got together again and were planning to get married. But Kelly had fallen in love with her stepbrother, Scott. Because she wouldn’t break up with Roy, Scott told everyone about their affair. Kelly managed to talk her way out of it and she and Roy got married. But soon she was in trouble again. Working as a cleaner, she stole jewellery from one of her clients, and let Roy take the blame. He went to prison! Meanwhile, Kelly’s beloved dad Vic Windsor was killed in a robbery at the post office, shattering the family. Kelly’s disastrous lovelife, and the death of her dad led her to leave the village. Kelly developed genuine feelings for Jimmy (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock) Kelly comes back! In 2005, Kelly came back to Emmerdale and proved very quickly that she hadn’t changed at all! She quickly fell out with Zoe Tate and Dawn Woods, and seduced curate Ethan Blake. Then she turned her attention to Rodney Blackstock who promised to bankroll a business Kelly was planning with his son, Paul Lambert. But Rodders ran out of money and Kelly lost interest. After another brief dalliance with Scott, she moved on to Jimmy King. Much to everyone’s surprise – including Kelly! – she developed real feelings for Jimmy. The pair got engaged. When Kelly found out she was pregnant again, she had an abortion. She wanted to keep it all secret, but Scarlett and her mum Carrie Nicholls found out and Carrie used it to cause trouble with Jimmy. With things getting tricky, Kelly shared a drunken kiss with Eli Dingle. Debbie Dingle blackmailed her, but Jimmy found out anyway. For a while it looked like the wedding wouldn’t go ahead, but Jimmy forgave his fiancée. However, he jilted her when Eli told him about the abortion! With everyone furious with her, Kelly left the village once more. Kelly told Jimmy she was the love of his life (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock) Forget me not! In 2011, Kelly met up with Jimmy. But he was still angry about the abortion and their meeting exploded into violence. Kelly whacked him over the head and legged it. When she came to the village a few weeks later she was amazed to discover Jimmy had amnesia and didn’t remember anything about their confrontation. Seeing her opportunity, Kelly told Jimmy she’d been the love of his life, and she moved into the village with her son Elliot. It turned out Elliot was Jimmy’s son. Kelly and Jimmy reunited and things were good – for about five minutes! Jimmy got his memory back, remembered Kelly had been the one to whack him over the head. Things fell apart and Kelly left the village. Could Kelly return to Emmerdale? Kelly’s son Elliot lived with Nicola, Jimmy, Angel and Carl for a little while in 2012 but returned to his mum. She sent him back to Emmerdale in 2016 and he’s stayed in the village ever since. With Kelly’s son still in the village, as well as her stepdad, Bob, and her niece April, there’s a lot of reasons for Ms Windsor to show up in Emmerdale. And Adele Silva, who played Kelly, told The Sun in 2022 she’d be up for a return. “I’d definitely go back if they asked me,” she said. “Obviously Kelly’s son is there and she’s not seen him for years. “Then there’s little April. You can imagine Marlon’s face if her aunty Kelly turned up. He’d be horrified.” And with her daughter, Sienna, being older now, Adele admitted it would be a good time to return. We’d love to see her!
