It’s touch and go as Dr Todd whisked her into surgery, however we’re pretty sure Charity will pull through. Just look at the evidence… The joy of the baby’s arrival is quickly broken up (Credit: ITV) Charity gives birth in Emmerdale After being stuck in a lift in full-blown labour on Monday night, tonight (Tuesday April 21) the emergency services were still struggling to get Charity out. She had Mackenzie with her for support, but he was thrown into a panic due to flashbacks of his time locked in a bunker by John Sugden. So it was up to Ross Barton to save the day. He stepped up, took control and delivered a baby girl on the lift floor. Of course he knew as he looked at the tiny newborn it was his daughter, however he was forced to hand her over and hide his emotions. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers After Charity said hello to her great-grandaughter (well, daughter! she passed out. Ross saw a growing pool of blood on the floor and alerted the staff they needed to work quicker to get them out. Finally the fire service got the lift doors open and Dr Todd rushed in to treat Charity. She immediately took her off to theatre. Sarah sobbed as she held the baby, saying she’d never forgive herself if anything happened to Charity. Meanwhile Ross was emotional and clearly struggling with the reality of handing over his little girl. Charity fights for her life after giving birth (Credit: ITV) Does Charity die in Emmerdale? At this point Emmerdale is remaining tight-lipped on whether Charity will pull through. Tomorrow night (Wednesday April 22) Ross and Mack wait for news as she remains in surgery. Her situation is critical and life-threatening, but will she be okay?Don't miss a single story! Well, given the circumstances surrounding Charity’s pregnancy, we are very confident she will survive this. Firstly, and the major point here, is that she has to face the fallout from her lies. There is no way Sarah, Jacob and Mack will not find out this is Charity and Ross’ baby. In fact, show boss Laura Shaw has already said: “With the baby due in spring, the birth may be the event that finally exposes all of Charity’s secrets…” What good would all that be if Charity were dead? They’ve got to have the big showdown, see if her marriage can survive, see who gets to keep the baby and how Sarah and Charity’s relationship can move forward. The baby arriving is just one strand of what will be an long-lasting storyline. To have Charity die before being involved in all of this would be ludicrous. Emma Atkins has made no mention of leaving Emmerdale and we’re pretty sure she is staying put for the foreseeable. So what does this mean for Charity, Sarah, Ross, and Mack?
