Share By Rebecca Sayers Jan 19 2026 By Rebecca Sayers Jan 19 2026 Emmerdale have kicked off their ‘Who killed Ray’ flashback week in style, as both Laurel and Arthur get into some dodgy situations. But not only that, we also got a sneak peek at what to expect from tomorrow’s episode… It’s a huge week for the soap, as Ray’s killer will finally be unmasked, and fans will know if their theories were right or wrong. Each night will focus on a different suspect. Each and every one of them had a reason to want Ray dead. But by the end of the week, viewers will see the full story play out. Tonight (January 19) put Laurel (and Arthur) into the spotlight. Over the last few weeks, both of them have been acting quite shifty, and we’re starting to discover why. Arthur went after Ray (Credit: ITV) Laurel and Arthur turned on Ray Tonight picked right up immediately after Ray killed Celia. He packed his red duffel bag, and left the house. But by the time he got to Laurel, she had discovered exactly what he had been doing. However, Ray wasn’t willing to let it all rest, and entered her house through the back. After a while, Laurel realised her only option was to let him speak. But Ray couldn’t do that. And he wanted Laurel to let him go. Ultimately, she made the decision that he had to go and never hurt anyone again. But Arthur managed to spot the end of the conversation, and clearly wasn’t happy that his mum had been brought into everything. Just as that was happening, Nicola was at Laurel’s house, urging her to realise she made a mistake letting him go. And the pair decided it was time to lure Ray back. Ray got into his car and made a phone-call asking for a new identity and passport. But as he was looking at the cash he had, Arthur interrupted him. The pair began to argue about everything, with Arthur even falling to the ground. But after Ray issued a threat to him, Arthur picked up a huge rock. We didn’t get to see what happened next, as the camera cut to show us Graham – who recently made a shock return – sitting in his car, watching the whole thing unfold. Graham has been watching Ray (Credit: ITV) How is Graham connected? This one scene is proof enough that Graham must have been the mystery person Rhona has been contacting. For weeks, viewers have seen her messaging someone, begging them to answer her as she wanted to know what happened. Graham was believed to have been murdered six years ago. But his recent reappearance threw all of that out the window. And while we still don’t know the details, some of it could be explained by the returning DI Dent, who worked on his case. But his appearance tonight, neatly ties in with Rhona’s episode taking place tomorrow. Six years ago, Rhona and Graham were madly in love with each other, before her abusive ex-husband Pierce was believed to have killed him. So, has she known he was alive all along? Or did she only recently discover the truth? We have a lot of questions surrounding his return, considering we literally saw his dead body. But now, we have to wonder if Graham actually could have killed Ray for the woman he loved?
