April was sobbing to Ross, showing him something on her hands. Marlon was seen taking a knife out of his pocket and Rhona was mysteriously texting someone. Ross then flashed up with a gun as Jai said: “It’s only a matter of time until the truth comes out.” Ray’s final hours will be told in a series of flashbacks (Credit: ITV) What happens next week It all sets up a week of flashbacks nicely as we will find out who killed Ray. We’ll see Ray following Celia’s murder. He collects himself, wipes his fingerprints from the weapon then grabs his bag before visiting dead Bear. On Monday we will see what happened with Laurel. Ray begs for another chance but she refuses to have him painted as the victim. He asks her to let him walk free, and she does. But then Nicola gets involved and tells Laurel to lure him into a trap to get justice. Meanwhile, Arthur is simmering as he wants revenge for what Ray has done to Laurel. And when he returns home with Ray’s stolen bag, Laurel panics after they find drugs inside. What will they do next? On Tuesday Rhona will be the focus, as she and Marlon spiral over missing April. Rhona is home alone when a shadowy figure arrives – who is it and what do they want? Wednesday is Marlon’s story. Believing Ray knows where April is, he goes with a kitchen knife to get answers. We will also see Paddy learn about Bear’s captivity, Ray making threats against Dylan and Eve, and Ross armed with a gun. It’s Thursday (January 22) that we finally find out what happened to Ray – and who killed him. Expect jaws to hit the floor. Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
