All the clues this is not the last we've seen of Robert's ex Robert and Aaron won't have seen the last of him Aaron Dingle John Sugden Kev Townsend Liam Cavanagh Robert Sugden Robron Share By Carena Crawford Nov 27 2025 By Carena Crawford Nov 27 2025 Tonight’s Emmerdale saw Kev Townsend leave Emmerdale village after a violent showdown with Robert Sugden, Aaron Dingle and Liam Cavanagh – but has he left for good? Well, although we don’t have exact confirmation on the future of Kev in Emmerdale, we do suspect the clues are there that this is not the last we’ve seen of him. Here’s why we don’t think this was Kev’s exit from Emmerdale. Robert and Aaron were held captive by Kev in Emmerdale tonight (Credit: ITV) What happened in Emmerdale tonight? Kev found out about Robert and Aaron‘s reunion on Wednesday November 26 and on Thursday November 27 he confronted them. He lay in wait at Aaron’s flat for them to emerge from the bedroom. They found Kev on the sofa brandishing his samuari sword. The boys were pretty shocked as he proceeded to hold them hostage saying he knew everything. At that moment Liam arrived to tell Robron Kev was leaving town. But Kev merely tricked him into the flat to join them in being held prisoner. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Robert tried to talk him round, explaining he never meant to hurt him. Liam urged him to calm down. But Aaron had had enough and called him a “spoilt little kid”. That tipped already unhinged Kev over the edge and he lunged with the sword, gravely injuring Robert in the proccess. Kev ordered Liam to patch Robert up, but Liam said he was in a bad way and needed urgent medical attention. Kev still refused to let Robert go. Liam tried to secretly call for help, but Kev caught him. Then the police arrived at the door. They were there to speak to Caleb, who lives below, about drugs at the depot, but Kev didn’t know that and assumed they were there for him. He sent them on their way. However eventually Robert and Liam got through to him. They told him this was his chance to leave otherwise he’d end up back in prison. Kev finally allowed them all to go and left town himself. Not before issuing a warning to Robron and stopping Lewis and saying his own cryptic sort of goodbye. Kev has gone – but hopefully not for good! (Credit: ITV) Has Kev left Emmerdale for good? So while it might seem that’s the end of Kev, we’re pretty convinced otherwise. Emmerdale declined to comment on whether or not this is Kev’s finale. But here’s the evidence it’s not. 1. Kev ‘always gets revenge’ His parting shot to Robert and Aaron was: “Just remember, I always get revenge.” So if that doesn’t sound like a comeback incoming then we don’t know what does! This won’t end here. There’s just no way. Lewis has shunned Kev, but will he change his mind? (Credit: ITV) 2. Kev is Lewis’ dad – and Lewis doesn’t know yet Kev was thrilled to find out he had a son in the village. He wanted to take him fishing. But Nicola put paid to that by blackmailing him over the pawn shop robbery to stay away for good. She might have think she has won, but there’s no point to a secret like that in Soapland for it not to come out. One day – probably soon – Lewis is going to find out Kev is his dad. Whether he finds out then tracks Kev down or whether Kev returns and tells him the news himself, we don’t know, but we are sure this is one secret that won’t stay hidden. As Kev left, he told Lewis: “The world’s full of wrong’uns and I’m one of them. But don’t ever let youself get hurt by anyone. I learnt that the hard way.” That fatherly advice might just bring them back together. Kev has proved a hit with fans (Credit: ITV) 3. Emmerdale wants Chris Coghill back – and so do the fans Although fans hated Kev when he first arrived the tide has definitely changed and they now want him to stay. And it seems fan demand has not gone unnoticed by the soap. A report in The Sun earlier this week revealed bosses are desperate to get him back too. “Chris originally signed up for a limited stint on the show as an antagonist for Robron with a mysterious link to the village but things have gone mad,” revealed a source. “Viewers absolutely love Kev. Bosses knew Chris would be popular because he’s a great actor but for Kev to have become so popular has definitely come as a big surprise. “Chris has filmed scenes through to the end of the year and that was meant to be it. “But now the bosses are looking at ways to bring him back in future to give the fans what they want.” John has escaped abroad but fans are sure he’ll be back (Credit: ITV) 4. Huge John Sugden theory As Kev has promised revenge, fans are starting to wonder if that might have something to do with Aaron’s ex John Sugden. Currently on the run abroad after being exposed for all his crimes, including killing Nate Robinson, kidnapping Mackenzie Boyd and dragging Aaron over a cliff, it seems hints are being dropped John will be back soon. Fans now wonder if Kev’s threatened revenge is to do with John after all. “Imagine if Kev’s revenge ends up with him and John teaming up? I know that’s very unlikely cos how would they meet? I’d like to see it though!” suggested one on X (formerly Twitter). Another speculated: “Kev saying he ‘always gets revenge’ has got me thinking… he knows about ‘Johnny fruit loop’, is he the reason John comes back? Does Kev somehow get hold of him and lets him know that the boys are back together???” “My last hope for this storyline is that they bring Kev and John back for a Christmas event that ends in some huge, unpredictable, catastrophic way,” added a third.
