The evidence is piling up, but fans have a way out for her Things are looking very bad for Moira Celia Daniels Moira Dingle Share By Carena Crawford Jan 14 2026 By Carena Crawford Jan 14 2026 Moira Dingle is in big trouble in Emmerdale as she fights to prove she had nothing to do with Celia Daniels’ drug operation and human trafficking. The evidence is piling up and it’s looking very bad indeed. So is there any way out for her? Well, fans have found some holes that they hope could see Moira walk free. Evidence was found against Moira tonight (Credit: ITV) Moira arrested in Emmerdale tonight After Joe Tate hinted the police should look further into Moira, they arrived at Butler’s with a search warrant. Moira was surprised, but with nothing to hide she allowed them to look around. They then discovered the evidence Robert had planted last week and arrested Moira immediately. As she was questioned at the station, the evidence was piling up. Not only do they have documents for illegal workers found at her house, but they don’t believe she didn’t know about Celia’s money laundering. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers The police are sure Moira would not be that stupid (and frankly, so are we!) They know she’s been in dire financial straits with the water fine and they know she was desperate to fix it. So it all adds up. Of course we also know that on her land there is at least on body buried – with another seemingly next to it after the soil nearby is shown to be exposed. The body is wrapped in a blanket belonging to Moira and if – as we suspect – the other body belongs to Celia, Moira is looking at a lengthy stretch not only for people trafficking but also for murder. Heck, she may even be roped in and accused of killing Ray to boot. DS Walsh does not believe Moira is innocent (Credit: ITV) Is Moira going to prison for murder? It seems there really is no way out of this. Moira admits as much to Mackenzie and Cain tomorrow. With Ray and Celia both dead no one can prove what Moira is saying is the truth. But fans are working overtime to come up with a way she can walk free. And one suggestion was prominent: “If the police checked the documents for fingerprints then Moira would be in the clear,” they said. Now that would be a good idea, but then again the Emmerdale police force aren’t particularly good at their jobs are they? (We ask again: where is DS Foy when you need him?) Others just want Robert to come clean: “Robert needs to tell Moira,” they cried. With some suggesting he tells Cain so he can sort it out properly. “I’d rather Vic went to prison than Moira,” said someone else, a sentiment shared by many. If Robert stops protected Victoria, Joe has no hold over him. Perhaps that would help Moira walk free. Whatever happens next, let’s just hope Moira’s fancy lawyer is worth the big bucks Caleb is paying him and can get her out of this. Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
