Ray talked to his mum’s dead body after killing her (Credit: ITV) Ray and Celia are both dead in Emmerdale On New Year’s Day, Ray Walters could take no more of his evil mother. Her controlling and vile nature had pushed him to the edge. Her torment of Laurel and forcing Ray to leave her behind was all too much. Then when he found out she had killed Bear, Ray finally snapped and stabbed his mum. As she was dying she told him she was proud of him. The last we saw of her her body was lying unmoving on the kitchen floor. Ray was talking to her telling her he felt no guilt for what he had done, he just felt free. However since then she has been nowhere to be found. Both Joe Tate and the police have been to the farm and there is no sign of Celia nor is there any blood or clue to her demise. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Meanwhile, Ray went to Laurel to tell her they could now be together, but she knew everything about who he really was. She chucked him out and never wanted to see him again. We saw Ray days later, dead in a body bag, being dragged through the village by an unknown assailant. The whereabouts of his body remain unknown. But tonight (Friday January 9) we saw a body wrapped in tarpaulin unnoticed in the back of a depot van. Jai was going to drive to Manchester in the van, but Caleb told him it could wait until the next morning, so the body was left there. But who is it? Ray has been murdered, but by who? (Credit: ITV) It’s Ray’s body – but where is Celia? Next week, the police are searching the depot over the drugs allegations. They look inside the van and watching Jai, Caleb and Billy are shocked when they discover the body. The police soon realise it is Ray. As Jai was the last one to use the van, he is immediately questioned. He’s under pressure, especially when Caleb also asks if he knows anything. Jai is adamant Celia must have killed Ray, but Caleb thinks that’s not possible and it must be someone closer to home. The walls begin to close in on Jai when the police start asking questions about his divorce from Laurel. Meanwhile, Laurel herself is struggling and is stunned when she discovers Ray’s body has been found. Laurel is later questioned and further implicates Jai by accident. As the gossips begin to think Jai could have killed Ray, he soon snaps and points the finger at April. Dylan storms out and admits to April he is upset because no matter how bad Ray was he didn’t deserve to die. It’s soon clear a lot of the villagers have secrets over what really happened. So who killed Ray? And more to the point, just what has happened to Celia? Celia hasn’t been seen since her death (Credit: ITV) Is Celia really dead in Emmerdale? Fans are starting to question whether Celia died at all – and it wouldn’t be the first time Emmerdale has pulled that trick! “So Ray and Celia are both dead, where are their bodies?” queried one on social media. Another said: “Someone’s also cleaned up after Celia’s murder – no body or blood on the floor when Joe went there.” “Ray stabbed Celia but she’s gone…” mused a third. Somebody else rightly said: “Wouldn’t have Celia‘s body have started to smell by now!” All of this has led to many theorising she’s not dead at all. “Celia‘s still alive, right? I mean TomTit survived an axe in the back…” “I’m thinking Celia isn’t dead and she probably killed Ray and has now done a runner,” agreed someone else. So if Celia’s really not dead, where is she?
