Aaron Dingle Joe Tate John Sugden Robert Sugden Victoria Sugden Share By Carena Crawford Jan 7 2026 By Carena Crawford Jan 7 2026 Robert Sugden has been tasked with framing Moira Dingle as he struggles to protect his sister Victoria. Joe Tate holds all the cards, but will Robert go through with it? Joe has footage of Victoria Sugden killing her half-brother John Sugden and he isn’t afraid to use it for a spot of blackmail. And it could see Moira lose everything. Victoria can’t believe Joe has evidence of the murder (Credit: ITV) Victoria killed John and Joe knows everything Robert had been a suspect in John’s death, despite his alibi, but Victoria soon confessed it was her. She had had a confrontation with him in the woods and a fight ensued. John tackled her to the floor, his hand over her mouth to keep her quiet. In fear for her life she grabbed a syringe from John and stabbed it in his neck. Vic then wiped the syringe and put it in his hand to make it look like suicide. Aaron told her: “John was a monster and he was going to hurt you, you just did what you had to do.” article continues below Read all the latest spoilers But as they agreed the truth would stay between the three of them, little did they know Joe Tate had filmed the whole thing. Tonight (Wednesday January 7) he visited Vic and Robert to show them the footage and make a deal. He wanted their part of the farm or else he would talk to the police. Never mind the fact the video would show it was self-defence, nor that instead of helping Victoria who was being attacked, Joe just filmed it, Joe seems to hold all the card. Joe is out to blackmail Victoria and Robert (Credit: ITV) Joe blackmails Robert over Moira in Emmerdale Of course we all know Joe’s ultimate goal is to get Moira’s farm. So when he went to see Celia and found a stack of passports in her house, he came up with a cunning plan. Joe ordered Robert to plant the passports at Moira’s house. It would leave Moira vulnerable and sure to sell to Joe. Robert immediately refused telling Joe there was ‘no chance’. But Joe replied: “Well, it wasn’t a request.” It leaves Robert with little option: if he wants to protect Victoria he has to frame Moira. Given Robert went to prison for previously protecting Vic, we know there’s very little he won’t do for his sister. But this? Would he really? Robert is put in a difficult position (Credit: ITV) Moira arrested We know that next week Moira is arrested. The police arrive at the farm to interview the staff while Moira goes to collect Cain from hospital. Guilty Robert does his best to paint Moira innocently. He really hopes he’s done enough to save her, given he has put her in this situation. However, Joe doesn’t paint Moira in a good light, making things all-the-worse for her. When Moira arrives home, she is pushed for answers by DS Walsh over her involvement with Celia. The police later return with a warrant, but Moira is confident she has nothing to hide. However when they find incriminating evidence, Moira is arrested on the spot for human trafficking. Moira is taken away and Caleb steps in to get the best lawyer possible. But we know there is even more evidence on her land yet to be discovered. And it could be that a good lawyer will not be enough in this case. Not enough at all. Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
