Fans certainly think it’s over for them as their future looks bleaker than ever. Kim is in a really bad way (Credit: ITV) Sam and Lydia’s betrayal hits hard in Emmerdale Joe Tate has been making life particularly miserable for Sam Dingle lately. So much so that Sam snapped and quit his job. Which was a bit of a mistake because the Dingles aren’t the wealthiest bunch anyway, but at the moment they are up to their neck in it after the electricty blew at home. Sam managed to get his job back after some grovelling, but then Kim started being mean to Lydia. She gave a stingy raffle donation for the Christmas Fayre and she became quite bossy at the house. Secretly Kim was cooking up a surprise for Lydia – Jason Donovan performing live at the Woolpack. But Lydia had had enough of how the Tates were treating her and Sam, so agreed to help Sam stage a dodgy shoot. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers The event would bring them some much needed money, but it was risky going behind Kim’s back. Lydia made sure Kim was out of the way, but the party became raucous and unsafe during the shoot. As well as shooting they put out snares for rabbits at Lydia’s suggestion – and it was one of these that had devastating consequences. Vanessa saw the shoot and alerted Kim to the goings on. Lady boss Kim saddled up trusty Ice and went to investigate. But Ice was caught by one of the snares and Kim also badly hurt, injuring her own leg on a snare too. Lydia saved Kim’s life – but also caused the accident in the first place (Credit: ITV) Kim might lose her leg Kim was alone in the woods all night unable to move. She was in a very bad way and it was not looking good on Friday December 12. But back at the Manor House hungover Gabby hadn’t even noticed she’d been missing. Joe and Dawn returned and Joe quickly realised something was off. Together with Lydia and Sam they went to search for Kim and found her close to death. As they waited at the hospital for news, Lydia felt sick when she realised Kim’s leg had been caught in a snare and it was her fault. The news Kim might lose her leg only made things worse. They have betrayed Kim in such a way surely there’s no coming back from this? And with Joe and Dawn wanting to involve the police, it’s looking bad for the pair. At the very least, Sam has to lose his job this time – and there’s not much to say Lydia could keep her job either. So what else would they do? And will Kim still see Lydia as her “best friend” after the devastating turn of events? We know that Kim is home for Christmas, but she has banished everyone from the house. When she has another fall, it’s Lydia who comes to her rescue. Kim sends her on her way again, but Lydia insists on staying put. If we were Kim we wouldn’t forgive! Fans think Lydia and Sam are definitely going to regret it – with a suggestion that Kim will even have them sent to prison. “Sam and Lydia you’re gonna regret doing that Kim!” warned one on social media. Another said: “I hope Queen Kim gets them banged up.” “Lydia showed her true mean colours,” added a third.
