Emmerdale this week has seen ongoing drama for everyone in the Dales especially Cain, Jacob and Robert – and spoilers for the next few months tell us it’s only going to get better.

This week has seen Cain hit by a car – driven by Jacob who was at rock bottom over Dr Todd’s bullying.

We also saw Dawn find out about Joe’s blackmail as Robert vowed to bring him down.

We already know from spoilers for Sunday, April 12 to Friday, April 17 there’s plenty more drama to come when new evidence is found to save Moira – but can they get it to her in time?

Beyond this, we can also look forward to watching some big storylines finally reaching their end, some huge characters may be saying goodbye – and some other villagers getting a chance to shine.

Later this year, Kev will make a triumphant return to our screens, as his new business venture causes some trouble for the villagers.

After leaving the village to let Robert live out his life with Aaron, Kev will be back in the Emmerdale mix in no time.

Emmerdale producer, Laura Shaw confirmed: “Both Chris and the character of Kev made a massive impact on the show last year, so Chris is most definitely back by popular demand.

“With Kev’s son, Lewis, in the village still unaware of who his father is, it’s safe to say that there’s a lot of unfinished business and drama ahead.”

Chris also spoke about his Emmerdale return. He said: “I’m really pleased to be returning to Emmerdale. I had a brilliant time last year. Kev is a complex character that I love playing. He has psychopathic tendencies but also an energy and vulnerability that I think makes him pretty unique. I’m properly looking forward to getting back at it.”

2. An exit for Dawn?

It was reported recently that Emmerdale has ‘axed’ Olivia Bromley as Dawn Fletcher after eight years in the soap. A source told The Sun: “Olivia is adored by everyone at Emmerdale so the decision to axe her has not gone down well at all.

“She’s a popular member of the cast and if they can get rid of Olivia then the feeling is virtually no-one is safe.

“Olivia understood their decision and is preparing to film her exit in the coming months.”

The news of Olivia’s exit is said to have gone down badly with other members of the cast. Olivia’s set to film her leaving scenes later this year, however the exact date of her departure is unknown, but is likely to be around the summer time.

No details of her end storyline have been given, but as she now knows about Joe’s blackmail and video of Victoria killing John, could this lead to a split and her eventual departure?

3. Sadie King comes back in Emmerdale spoilers?

According to The Sun Patsy Kensit is reprising her role as villainous Sadie King after 20 years.

A source told the publication: “This signing has been kept a top secret as bosses want Patsy’s return to shock fans.

“She is apparently delighted to be get her teeth back into the meaty role.

“Scriptwriters want to keep the show going with explosive plots and divisive characters.”

Sadie was best-known for a steamy romance with Cain Dingle, but then when she teamed up with him to kidnap Tom King, he turned on her and took the £2m ransom for himself.

Some fans think Sadie is working with Graham to bring Kim down and get Home Farm for herself.

4. Love or hate for Graham and Kim

They might have given in to their passion recently, but Graham quickly regretted it and tried to kill Kim! She believes she accidentally took too many painkillers and it was a sign to slow down. However we know it was Graham.

He has said he is going to “try something else” to get rid of her, but Andrew Scarborough who plays Graham has revealed he’s not sure Graham does want to kill Kim. In fact, he thinks feelings are still there between them. So will this end on death or romance?

5. Dingle Farm flourishes in Emmerdale spoilers

We have seen Cain desperately searching for farm land so he can start Dingle Farm for Moira when she is released from prison.

At the moment it looks uncertain whether he will make it a success, but show boss Laura Shaw has promised us it will.

She said: “Farming remains a vital presence in Emmerdale, providing a daily dose of excitement and fresh air for our audience.”

The soap has confirmed that two farms are soon working in the village and flourishing: Emmerdale Farm and The Dingle Farm. Which is good news to us!

6. Prison for Bear – and Paddy?

Bear has confessed to killing Ray deliberately in a bid to protect Paddy. It means his manslaughter charge has been upped to murder.

Paddy then realised his only choice was to confess too to save his dad from a lengthy stretch.

Paddy and Dylan admitted their part in it and were charged with perverting the course of justice. They’ve been told a life sentence is possible.

Will they all go down?

7. Cain’s cancer fight

We have seen Cain find out he is battling aggressive prostate cancer. He needs a radical prostatectomy and that surgery could have serious side-effects including incontinence and erectile dysfunction.

Actor Jeff Hordley told The Mirror: “Everything is falling to pieces and he doesn’t deal with his diagnosis at all well. Cain has never found it easy to talk about his feelings anyway but after learning of his diagnosis, he snaps at everyone.

“He worries that if he tells anyone and with Moira in prison, nobody will be around to look after their children. He is terrified he is going to die.”

Will Cain find the courage to deal with this?

8. ‘Make or break’ for Moira and Cain

As well as Cain facing his own mortality, he could be heading for a marriage crisis too. In an interview with Metro.co.uk Jeff warned he doesn’t know what the future holds for Cain and Moira.

“I think that’s what’s good about this story, for Cain and Moira. There’s a series of obstacles and hurdles that lay in front of them that I think are really going to challenge them as a couple.

“As to whether it makes or breaks them, I don’t think I even know just yet but it’s going to be really interesting to see.”

Show boss Laura Shaw also hinted things will be complicated for Moira and Cain. “Their complex marriage will be tested as they face dark times,” she said.

However in a recent interview with The Mirror, Jeff gave hope as he talked about how strong their love is.

“Cain is told surgery could make him incontinent and/or he could have an erectile dysfunction afterwards. For some men, this can be short term but for others, it is forever.

“What if Moira won’t want him? This will be a story about how ultimately their love for each other is so strong.”

Sounds encouraging. Let’s just hope it is.

9. Graham Foster’s connection to Jodie

One huge mystery remains since Graham’s return: just what is his connection to Coronation Street’s Jodie?

During Corriedale Graham had her tied up in the back of his van. We sort of got answers last week when Graham admitted he’d been hired to get rid of Jodie. 

But it was a disappointing outcome and we’re sure there’s more to it to be revealed.

10. Charity’s secret explodes in Emmerdale spoilers

Charity has so far has kept her baby lie a secret, except from Ross, who seems to be keeping quiet that the baby she is carrying is in fact his and hers, not Sarah and Jacob’s.

But she will not be successful in keeping her secret forever. “The truth surrounding Charity’s pregnancy is set to blow wide open,” Laura teased. “Mackenzie mistakenly believes he could be the baby’s father, but the secret that Ross is the real father is still under wraps.

“With the baby due in spring, the birth may be the event that finally exposes all of Charity’s secrets…”

11. Dr Todd’s plot against Jacob

Jacob’s mentor Dr Caroline Todd is back for a longer stint. She will also become involved in village life when she moves in with Vanessa.

This is set to be a problem for Jacob as it turns into a workplace bullying storyline.

Of her comeback Caroline Harker said: “I’m delighted to be back at Emmerdale for a longer stint playing Doctor Todd. She’s a complex character and from what I’ve been told so far, quite a tricky one for Jacob to navigate.

“Workplace bullying is commonplace, and it will be interesting to see it brought to our screens in a serial drama such as Emmerdale.”

Some fans have wondered if her secret is even darker than we think and that she’s connected to Ray and Celia’s drug world, others think she is involved with Jacob’s teacher Maya who groomed and seduced him when he was a teenager.

We now know Todd is compiling a file against Jacob accusing him of obsessive behaviour. But exactly why is she targeting Jacob?

12. Kammy’s backstory explained in Emmerdale spoilers

Speaking on the Inside Soap’s Soap Scoop podcast, Shebz Miah confirmed that there will be more to come from Kammy this year.

As it turns out, Shebz has had the meeting with the Emmerdale bosses, to discuss the finer details of a long-term storyline.

He explained: “You guys are in for a surprise, I’ll tell you that. It’s a hot topic at the moment with Kammy. Everyone is always asking me: ‘When do we get to learn more about him and understand what’s happening?'”

Shebz admitted he has spent the last lot of months in meetings with producers and writers, trying to come up with a worthy backstory. And finally, they have one, and even Shebz didn’t “imagine” what it was.

He said: “Honestly, it was a mixture of emotions when I found out. There was a lot of relief, there was happiness. But then, there is also a tragic side to it as well.

“There’s some tragedy in there. But it all makes sense. There is a reason why he is so cheery and charismatic.”

13. A return for Steph Miligan

Emmerdale star Georgia Jay left as Steph Miligan earlier this year to have her first baby. She gave birth to a little girl who she called Nora in June 2025.

And now she has delighted fans with a post on her Instagram revealing she is reading a script again. And fans are sure that signals her return to the Dales.

Although the words were blurred out, it looks like the Miligan family will be back together before too long!
