Mandy Dingle walked into the Woolpack in Emmerdale tonight with her arm in a cast and revealed to everyone what she had done.

But the injury was added into the plot because Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy, hurt herself in real life. In fact, she was rushed to hospital for surgery after a “very bad fall”.

Mandy explains arm injury in Emmerdale

When questioned by Charity this evening, Mandy tried to pass the injury off as nothing. However Kerry piped up and explained: “She had a few Proseccos and tried to prove she could still rollerskate.”

“Which I can!” Mandy intervened!

But in real life, it wasn’t rollerskating that caused the damage. Lisa has previously explained exactly what happened on her Instagram account – and just how serious it was.

Lisa Riley reveals shock fall

Posting to Instagram late on Wednesday, March 25 Lisa shared an image of her in a blue sling and cast. And another image of her smiling beside the surgeon, clearly in high spirits.

Alongside the pics, she penned a lengthy caption thanking the NHS.

She penned: “Our NHS is incredible. I have to massively thank my specialist surgeon Mr Daniel Thornton at LGI Leeds hospital and all the beautiful team. Every single one of you who treated me this afternoon.”

Lisa went on to explain she fell over the weekend and was left with “massive damage”.

She added: “I had a very bad fall over the weekend (No I was sober), No drunk jokes. It was my extremely slippy breakfast stool and a woollen cardi. My left thumb took all of it.

“Today, hence the massive damage, I have had my operation, surgery. To treat my UCL in my thumb. The NHS at the absolute best.

“Bye for now. I have some fantastic pain relief to take.”
