Last year, Chris joined Emmerdale as Robert’s mystery prison husband. And it didn’t take long before he caused quite the stir. However, despite his psychotic behaviour at times, Emmerdale fans couldn’t help but love Kev. Following his exit, many were calling for an immediate return. And they finally have their wishes granted! A comeback for Kev has been confirmed (Credit: ITV) Kev’s time in Emmerdale When he first appeared in Emmerdale, Kev pretended he was dying in order to get Robert to stay with him. But not long after he got released, it was revealed to be a lie. Despite being out of prison, Robert knew his heart belonged with Aaron. In the end, though, Kev narrowly escaped Aaron’s killer husband, John and fled the village after alerting Aaron to the danger that was coming. Kev’s return will definitely cause chaos (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale confirms Kev Townsend return Later this year, Kev will make a triumphant return to our screens, as his new business venture causes some trouble for the villagers. After leaving the village to let Robert live out his life with Aaron, it looks like Kev will be thrown back into the Emmerdale chaos in no time. Emmerdale producer, Laura Shaw confirmed: “Both Chris and the character of Kev made a massive impact on the show last year, so Chris is most definitely back by popular demand. “With Kev’s son, Lewis, in the village still unaware of who his father is, it’s safe to say that there’s a lot of unfinished business and drama ahead.” Chris also spoke about his Emmerdale return. He said: “I’m really pleased to be returning to Emmerdale. I had a brilliant time last year. Kev is a complex character that I love playing. He has psychopathic tendencies but also an energy and vulnerability that I think makes him pretty unique.
