Kim Tate poisoned in Emmerdale

On Monday (March 30) Kim went to dinner at the Dingles‘ despite Graham’s warning it was a bad idea. Kim was insistent Lydia would never let anything happen to her and she needed to put the feud to bed.

We had previously seen Caleb, Cain and Chas joking about Kim “having a little accident”. And then we watched as Caleb decanted wine into a different bottle, Chas chopped apples for her dessert and someone went foraging for mushrooms in the woods.

At the meal things were rocky, with Kim flying solo against a whole offering of Dingles sniping at her. But then it started to thaw and took a more positive turn.

However, as Kim made a toast she suddenly started choking and then she collapsed. Unconscious and clearly in a bad way, Kim was rushed to hospital by Liam and Lydia. The doctors worked to find out what was wrong with her.

Later, Jacob said it was likely to be mushroom poisoning, but who was behind it?

Cain and Joe were the prime suspects

In tonight’s episode (Wednesday April 1), Graham revealed to the Dingles that Kim was poisoned by the mushrooms and all eyes initially fall on Sam. But it wasn’t long before he revealed that it was Cain who told him where to forage.

Cain was angry as he faced a lot of suspicion from the family. Sam suggested Cain did try to kill Kim on purpose and Caleb pointed fingers at his brother too.

However, at the hospital, Kim was accusing someone else: Joe Tate. She accused him of shedding crocodile tears and suggested he was behind it all.

Appalled and shocked at her accusations, he insisted that he had absolutely nothing to do with it. But is he telling the truth?

Who poisoned Kim revealed in Emmerdale

It was Graham Foster!

Kim was told by Dr Todd that it wasn’t the mushrooms, but an overdose of painkillers. Kim was adamant she hadn’t messed up her medication, but she later accepted it may have been her own fault.

In her hospital bed, Kim told visitors Lydia and Chas: “This time, there was no enemy, no plotting, no poison plate. Just me moving too fast. So maybe – on this occasion – I did do all this to myself…”

However at that moment, the action fell on Graham. He was making a mysterious phone call while tampering with her medication in gloved hands.

He referred to Kim as a “pain in the neck” and said he would have to find another way because the “double dose” had failed.

So will he try again?

Andrew Scarborough on Kim’s demise in Emmerdale

Despite Graham being sure he wants Kim dead, actor Andrew Scarborough, who plays Graham, is not so sure that’s true as he revealed the real reason Kim survived the attack.

“Graham is clearly still incredibly angry that Kim tried to kill him six years ago,” Andrew explained.

“This resulted in him faking his own death to escape the hit she put out on him. He lost Rhona in this process, so he still hasn’t forgiven Kim for that. She took six years of his life away.

“That is why he just tried to kill her – for revenge.”

But then he added: “I am not convinced his whole heart was in it because their relationship is complicated. I think if his whole heart were in it, he would have actually made it happen.”

So does that hint at a future for Kim and Graham? They are both even know having tried to kill the other, so can they wipe the slate clean and start again – romantically?
