Moira sells up

It was a few weeks ago that Moira made the decision to sell the farm to Kim Tate. Joe Tate had been putting the pressure on for months and with Moira inside – partly thanks to Joe himself – she had no fight left.

The evidence against Moira is pretty strong (if not full of holes) and she thinks she might be going to prison for a long time. Coupled with that was Cain’s cancer diagnosis. He needs to put all of his focus on that and not on fighting the Tates. Joe also had Cain over a barrel having caught him on camera stealing his expensive car.

All-in-all Moira decided it was time to let the farm go. She signed a deal that saw Kim take over the farm. And now Robert and Aaron have taken over the lease.

It means Robert and Aaron are living at the farmhouse and Cain and the boys have moved back in with the Dingles.

After 17 years at Butler’s it’s a big, big change for Moira. She is leaving lots of memories behind. When she gets out of prison, everything will be very different indeed.

She added that she understood why though and that “all good things come to an end”.

Natalie said: “I have always loved working on that set but on the flip side, you embrace the change as well.

“It’s a bit of a difference, but the show is going back to the old roots with the Tates, the Dingles and the Sugdens. There’s a lot of new stories that could come from that. All good things come to an end. It does feel a little bit odd but we are producing some good stuff at the minute, so I’m happy with that.”

Natalie also spoke about how prison will change Moira in the long-term.

“I think prison makes her a bit harder. I think the way she presents herself is going to change a bit, because she’s had everything taken away from her. So the things that she didn’t really bother with she’s going to actually do now. She will want to feel good about herself.

“She’s gonna have a bit of a rebirth in that sense but it’s made her tougher. When she’s out, she’s gonna be around people all of a sudden again. That can feel weird because you’ve just been on your own for ages and you’ve not had the same chain of chaos as you used to have.”
