Except of course that’s not to last as Emmerdale has now all-but confirmed John and Kev are on their way back to the Dales. And it’s going to be explosive. The ITVX cover page shows what’s coming next – Kev, Robert, Aaron and John in Emmerdale (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale drops ‘confirmation’ of the return of Kev Townsend and John Sugden On the ITVX cover page for Emmerdale the promo image now shows Robert and Aaron, with ghostly Kev and John next to them. We all know neither Kev nor John are dead, so it’s a huge suggestion they will be back to haunt Robron just as they look forward to their happily ever after. Fans were quick to spot it and work out what it means. Taking to a Reddit thread one said: “Hoping that this means both of them are going to be involved with the Corriedale crossover and that they are working together. The four of them together is going to be so interesting.” Another was also here for the action: “Go Kev and John! Do your worst. It seems really likely – plus the rumour mill has been running for a while that they will be a part of the big Corriedale crossover. When Kev left his parting shot was: “Just remember, I always get revenge,” which definitely sounded like a comeback threat to us. And fans agreed – immediately putting him together with John for a return plot. “Imagine if Kev’s revenge ends up with him and John teaming up? I know that’s very unlikely cos how would they meet? I’d like to see it though!” suggested one on X (formerly Twitter). Another speculated: “Kev saying he ‘always gets revenge’ has got me thinking… he knows about ‘Johnny fruit loop’, is he the reason John comes back? Does Kev somehow get hold of him and lets him know that the boys are back together???” “My last hope for this storyline is that they bring Kev and John back for a Christmas event that ends in some huge, unpredictable, catastrophic way,” added a third. Meanwhile, killer John Sugden managed to escape justice and run away abroad, but we’ve always been adament Emmerdale did not air John’s exit on a random Wednesday night. That final showdown must be coming… And this promo pic is just the latest clue that he will be connected to the upcoming Corriedale. It comes after a poster displayed in the Corrie police station popped up again last month. Both Coronation Street and Aaron actor Danny Miller shared that on their socials, suggesting this is definitely an Easter Egg of what’s to come. The events leading up to Christmas and New Year into the Corriedale special are very high stakes.” He continued: “Robert’s state of mind around Christmas is panic, very anxious.
