As Sarah and Jacob set off to tie the knot, they were shocked to find two other Emmerdale villagers had beaten them to it. Sarah and Jacob had tried to get their nearest and dearest to attend their wedding under the guise of it being a gender reveal party. But with Pollard and Charity otherwise engaged, they headed off to the registry office alone. What they hadn’t bargained for was a Rachel and Ross from Friends scenario. As they waited for their turn, their excitement turned to shock when Eric and Kerry strolled out, having just tied the knot. Jacob and Sarah decided not to get married (Credit: ITV) Sarah and Jacob shocked by surprise wedding The episode started with Sarah Sugden showing Jacob her white dress. However, they quickly covered it when Eric walked in with Kerry. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers At the registry office, Jacob found another couple to be their witnesses – telling Sarah that they’d repay the favour and be witnesses for that couple too. However, with Jacob and Sarah next in line, newlyweds Pollard and Kerry strolled out arm in arm. Eric told the shocked couple that it was just a financial arrangement, while Kerry, who was wearing a pink fluffy cowboy hat informed Jacob and Sarah that she was just keeping Eric’s money safe following his setting up of the bank account in her name. The tables then turned with Pollard furious at his grandson for attempting to get married without telling him. Pollard and Kerry stormed out, with an unmarried Jacob and Sarah not far behind them. Newlyweds Kerry and Pollard were shocked to see Sarah and Jacob (Credit: ITV) The big news soon spreads In the pub, Kerry made a joke about it being like Henry VIII now that Eric is on his sixth wife. But the joking soon stopped when Jacob and Sarah arrived and told the whole pub of the “sham” wedding. Eric and Kerry insisted the marriage was legit, but the likes of Nicola, Vanessa and Tracey struggled to believe it. The newlyweds attempted to kiss, but it was quite clear it was a struggle. Kerry also described Eric as being like her dad, with Vanessa quipping: “Who marries their dad?” Will Pollard and Kerry be able to convince everyone that the marriage is for real?
