Emmerdale: Jai could blow murder cover-up ‘wide open’ star Will Ash warns

Jai won't stop digging

Earlier this year, Ruby Fox-Miligan killed her abusive father Anthony in Emmerdale, with Caleb, Cain, Chas, Aaron and John helping to hide the murder, but William Ash has warned that Jai could blow the cover-up.

Ruby suffered at the hands of her abusive father when she was a child. His return into her life last year brought it all flooding back and she eventually ended up smothering him.

Aaron originally thought he’d killed Anthony, but Ruby soon admitted the truth. With six people already in the know over what really happened, the group are determined not to let anyone else find out.

But with Jai Sharma constantly fishing for news on Anthony, could he discover the truth?

Jai suspicious over Anthony disappearance

Working closely with the Miligans at the Depot, it didn’t take Jai long to realise that the mention of Anthony’s name made them nervous.

Jai asked questions and continued to dig and ask questions about Anthony’s whereabouts. At one point, he spotted that Steph was upset, so took the opportunity to fish for information.

Steph was about to talk, but Caleb Miligan interrupted and spun Jai a story about Anthony leaving following a fight over an insurance scam.

At the time, it appeared Jai was satisfied with that version of events. But it soon became clear that he wasn’t willing to let it go.

While in the pub, Jai goaded Caleb and Ruby about Anthony. His suspicions were heightened further when he discovered Steph had been hanging out in the woods.

When the Miligans arrived home, they received a bunch of flowers with the message ‘I’m coming for you. Anthony.’ This sent Steph’s mind into overdrive, but in Monday’s episode (April 14), Ruby discovered that Jai was the culprit.

Reprimanding him for his ‘disgusting’ actions, Ruby told Jai half the truth – that her dad had raped her. Jai felt guilty about what he had done, but will that be the end of his investigating?

William Ash on Jai potentially blowing their cover in Emmerdale

With Jai on the investigative warpath, William Ash is aware that Caleb and the others need to be super careful as Jai could blow the whole thing apart.

“I think Jai’s nosy by nature anyway”, said William Ash.

“Caleb in the past has taken him to the cleaners financially and Jai is so reliant on Caleb being his boss and his source of income, Caleb is really wary of him. If he starts digging he might find something about Anthony and about Ruby and all the rest of it, and about Anthony being Steph’s dad.

“He could blow it wide open. So he’s wary of Jai.”

On Ruby’s decision to divulge part of the truth – that Anthony raped her – Will Ash added: “I think it was an absolute tactic just to shut him up.

“It’s quite brutal how she tells him, as well. She’s quite matter-of-fact about it and it does have the desired effect, it does shut him up. I think it would shut anyone up. I don’t think he thinks it’s something as bad as abuse that happened with Anthony, but when he does find out it shuts him up.”

But will it shut him up for good?
