6 ways Emmerdale could easily and quickly wrap up the John Sugden storyline

There are a lot of ways the storyline could wrap up quickly

Emmerdale has been dragging the John Sugden storyline on for quite some time now. And everyone is desperate for it to end.

Shockingly, John is still getting away with absolutely everything. And even more shockingly, Robert Sugden is the only person who has realised what is happening – despite only being back for a few months.

While the storyline seems to be dragging on, Emmerdale fans have began enjoying the direction it’s headed. As it finally looks like John is running out of time. However, there are quite a few ways that Emmerdale could end the John Sugden storyline very quickly and easily.

1. Robert should go to Cain

As soon as he arrived, Robert Sugden was aware that John was no good. But as time as gone on, he has literally figured out that John always being the one to save everyone is a bit suspicious. And he believes he killed Nate.

Obviously, he has no proof and just looks insanely jealous. But there is one person who is desperate for the truth about Nate’s death; Cain Dingle. And he was even in the process of making his own list of suspects, which John was on.

So if Robert went to Cain instead of those closest to John, and presented his case – surely alarm bells would start ringing. And then the pair could work together to bring him down.

2. Paddy makes a realisation on the help-line

It was revealed that Paddy was the person on the help-line chatting to John. It hasn’t been mentioned again, but it feels like it will definitely play a part in the ending of John Sugden in Emmerdale.

Paddy has already suggested they call instead of text, and so if John ever agrees to this, Paddy could hear his voice and work things out.

Maybe jumping immediately to Nate’s murder would be a stretch – but it would at least get him thinking about what John is guilty of.

3. Aaron realises how shifty his husband actually is

Let’s face it, Aaron Dingle is missing quite a lot of signs that John is a very dodgy man. He keeps talking about how well they know and love each other – but that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

With Robert back, there was always a ticking time-bomb on Aaron’s relationship with John. But maybe he could start opening his eyes and seeing that John is clearly hiding something from him.

We know John has a tendency to sleep talk when he is stressed – so could Aaron overhear him talking about Nate? Or one of the many other crimes he has committed? Aaron making the realisation would definitely create some amazingly intense scenes ahead…

4. Everyone could start communicating

Everyone involved in the John Sugden storyline in Emmerdale actually has little bits of information which could be pieced together to show how guilty John is. But the issue is that none of them communicate.

All it would take is someone to really listen to Robert, or to start talking about John’s history, to actually prove that there is more than meets the eye.

Sadly everyone seems to be taken by John and his heroic ways, and none of them have a bad word to say about him.

5. Robron team-up?

If – a very big if – Aaron does realise that John has been lying to him, maybe he will finally go to hear Robert out fully. We know how jealous John is of their relationship, so could his actions ultimately push Aaron towards Robert?

We all know Aaron and Robert are at their best when they work together. So perhaps the only way to take John down once and for all is an iconic Robron team-up.

6. John could crack under the pressure

For the last little while some fans have wondered if the whole thing will end with John just confessing. Because he definitely seems to be struggling with the guilt.

So, if he continues to get stressed, could he break down and confess his sins? Seems unlikely considering he hates not being the hero, but only time will tell.

While we are yet to know when or how the John Sugden storyline gets wrapped up in Emmerdale – we really hope it’s soon!
