Kim Tate Nate's Death Sarah wants a baby in Emmerdale Share By Kerry Barrett Jul 19 2025 By Kerry Barrett Jul 19 2025 This week’s Emmerdale review is all about the Dingles. Because it’s finally happened. The Dingles have lost their collective minds. They have been making some very, very odd decisions this week, acting in very strange ways and generally just making a huge mess of everything. Is it an over-reaction to say we just think there are too many of them now? Maybe, but it’s how we feel after this week’s Dingle debacle. Thank goodness for Kim Tate, who was the only bright spot in a very gloomy week. Here’s what we thought of everything in our Emmerdale review. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers The Dingles made their presence felt this week (Credit: ITV) Nate’s funeral Of course the big story of the week was poor Nate Robinson finally being laid to rest. It was Nate’s funeral, the Dingles were banned and of course they weren’t going to accept that. First of all, Cara – Nate’s mum – arrived just as the Dingles were holding their own memorial for Nate in the pub. Cara was fuming. Which is her default setting when it comes to the Dingles, but we can’t say we blame her. Cara was convinced Cain had killed her son. Of course we know he didn’t, but let’s be honest – to an outsider, it doesn’t look good, does it? Considering Cain had beaten Nate to a pulp shortly before he disappeared forever. Despite this, the Dingles all thought Cara was being terribly unreasonable. Of course it kicked off at Nate’s funeral (Credit: ITV) Tracy’s guilty! The Dingles were also absolutely certain that Tracy had been the one to off Nate. They had proof of this in the shape of Nate’s life insurance policy which turned up just at the wrong moment. Mandy was convinced Tracy had killed Nate for the money because she’d been so hard up. Of course, she’d conveniently forgotten that the only reason Tracy had been so hard was because Nate had disappeared. Make it make sense. Anyway, Belle almost got it when they discussed whoever had murdered Nate would have to be a monster, and strong because he was quite a big bloke. You know who’s not those things? Tracy. But still, no one made the connection. Nate’s funeral descended into an ugly fight but Moira looked HAWT (Credit: ITV) Tracy’s innocent! Later, Tracy was forced to reconsider Frankie going to her own dad’s funeral because of the risk of the Dingles kicking off. Which, as it turned out, was quite a good decision, because the Dingles did, indeed, kick off. Though they did it in style, with the old Dingle funeral drum making an appearance and Moira looking AMAZING in her mob-boss outfit. She’s in charge now, right? But despite all the drama, Cain and Tracy decided to put their differences aside, and they’re friends again now, working together to find the murderer. So that’s good. Don’t do it, Charity (Credit: ITV) Sarah-gacy While Nate’s funeral was the big story of the week, Sarah’s surrogacy story rumbled on, and frankly just got a whole lot worse. Charity decided the best person to carry Sarah’s baby would be Victoria. That would be Victoria who was raped and gave birth to her rapist’s baby, would it? That Victoria? We can’t roll our eyes enough. Luckily, Victoria said no, and Robert backed her up (yay, Robert!). And even Charity realised that it was a stupid idea. Though not as stupid as her offering to be the surrogate instead. We’re not sure we can write any more about how awful this storyline is but suffice to say when Kerry Wyatt is the only one talking sense, it’s probably a sign that things aren’t going well. Don’t mess with the Lady Boss, Crowley (Credit: ITV) Lady Boss lady bossing it Thankfully, up at Home Farm, the ridiculous Dr Crowley story came to a dramatic and very entertaining conclusion. There are some things soaps do well, and some things they do less well. And one of those things is business. This week Joe being a High-Powered Businessman was even funnier than usual. He reminded us of those Haribo ads where the grown ups have kids’ voices. And our favourite thing of all was that his Brilliant Business Opportunity was a solar farm. In Scotland. “In theory, it looks promising,” said Kim. Does it though? We don’t know if the good people of Emmerdale spend much time in Scotland, but being from north of the border ourself, we feel qualified to say that a solar farm in Scotland isn’t going to make anyone rich, any time soon. In fact, a better business deal could be a factory making chocolate teapots. We were absolutely sure that Kim wouldn’t be outsmarted by Crowley, but as time went on and she was helpless on the bed, we started to doubt ourselves – and Kim! Surely Joe hadn’t really drugged her, we thought. After a brief giggle at her password – LadyBoss, of course – we returned to our fretting. It didn’t look good. Until YES! Kim jabbed Crowley with the drugs instead and order was restored. Thank goodness for that! Therapy Talking of good business opportunities, we think we see one. We reckon a therapist would make a killing in Emmerdale (not you, John. Not that sort of killing). So many villagers need a bit of help coming to terms with things like their life-limiting illness, or their fear of dogs and weird relationship with their dad, or the many, many bereavements in the village. If Kim wants to make megabucks we reckon that’s where she should be putting her money. We don’t know why Lewis and Nicola work together but we like it (Credit: ITV) Money-saving expert Lewis One person who does seem to be surprisingly savvy when it comes to savings, is newcomer Lewis. It turns out, he’s got loads of cash squirrelled away. Enough, as it goes, to buy Brenda out of the cafe. Nicola was weirdly resistant to the idea at first but she came round. And we’re quite pleased about it because actually Lewis and Nicola together in the cafe is really working for us. Who knew that would be a successful pairing?! Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
