Emmerdale Review: Tracy couldn't have killed Nate and Gabby keeps choosing the wrong men! We have a lot of questions this week

We've been left a bit confused by this week's eps!

Well, that was a dramatic week in Emmerdale, wasn’t it? Everyone thinks Tracy killed Nate!

And there was a lot of shouting. So much shouting. Anyway, the action was non-stop and it left us sort of breathless.

But this week’s episodes also left us with a lot of questions.

Well, mostly just one question, but it applies to a lot of the goings on in this week’s Emmerdale,

WHY?

Here’s our round-up of everything that left us wondering.

Why do the police think Tracy killed Nate in Emmerdale?

We’re not saying the only decent police officer in a five-mile radius of Hotten is Swirling. No, actually we are saying that. What on EARTH are the police up to? Honestly even DS Desari would be better than this and he’s still not solved Tom King’s murder 20 years on.

They arrested Tracy before they had done any sort of actual investigating then kept bobbing in and out with extra information. “We just found out about his credit card…” They didn’t know about the removal company until Tracy told them and then they managed to consider that evidence against the person who’d just filled them in.

They expect everyone to know exactly where they were and for how long on a random day nine months ago without giving anyone a chance to say ‘ohh we’re not sure actually, can I check my diary?’

And they seem to be ignoring the biggest problem of all – summed up by Belle who questioned how Tracy could have murdered Nate? She’s not big enough. Nate was tall and well-muscled. We’re not completely sure how Tracy is supposed to have killed him, wrapped his body in tarpaulin, and thrown him in a lake. By herself. Presumably with little Frankie in tow.

Plus do they even know how Nate died yet? We’re no detectives but we reckon that’s quite an important part of the investigation.

Why does anyone think Tracy killed Nate in Emmerdale?

Rubbish policework aside, why is no one questioning Tracy’s secret super-strength? There’s no way she could have killed Nate.

This is just like when tiny Belle nudged massive Tom and he lay on the ground moaning and everyone was like “ohmygod Belle really hurt Tom.”

Bet Tracy’s wishing she had called a few windfarms now, eh? (Credit: ITV/Composite: EI)

Why did Tracy lie about phoning the windfarms?

Not that the police seem to have noticed this – why would they? – but Tracy totally lied about phoning ALL the many, many windfarms in Shetland (three, there are three).

Remember she thought about it and then Moira talked her out of it, and we all thought for a weird moment that Moira killed Nate because she was being so odd about Tracy trying to track him down.

Anyway, Tracy did not call any windfarms because if she had, she’d have known that Nate wasn’t there. So why tell the police she did?

Eve finds Bear's sleeping pills in Emmerdale

Why on earth would Eve play with Bear’s pills and why would Paddy blame Bear for it?

Eve is a smart little girl. She is five years old. She goes to school. She gives Paddy backchat. She is absolutely old enough to know what she should and shouldn’t play with. So we are bewildered by her playing with Bear’s pills. We’re also bewildered by Paddy blaming Bear or the whole shebang. It was a very odd interlude in what was, let’s be frank, an odd week.

Vinny asks Kammy for help in Emmerdale

Vinny and Kammy: Just WHY?

And the oddest of all oddities this week was Vinny and Kammy. It’s hard to know where to start with this. Why are they suddenly friends? Why would Vinny possibly enjoy Kammy’s company when Kammy is so very, very annoying? Why does Kammy say things like “see you on the flipside, bro-ski”?

And of course the biggest why, the elephant why in the room of whys, is why did Vinny almost kiss Kammy? Where did that come from? Vinny has so far seemed to be a very enthusiastic participant in his romance with Gabby, which we totally get doesn’t mean he can’t also like men. But he’s never shown even the briefest flicker of interest in his own sex. Where has this come from? And surely – SURELY – Gabby’s not going to plan another wedding to another fiancé who turns out to be gay?
