Robert Sugden is determined to bring John down, and we’re all so ready for it. But the two big questions are how? And when? The brothers have just made a pretend truce for Victoria’s sake. But it’s clear they hate each other. And perhaps the truce will actually be the beginning of the end, as some fans believe Emmerdale foreshadowed the final showdown location. And who better than recently-returned Robert? Robert hasn’t been back for very long, but he and John already very clearly hate each other. And he also has realised there is more to John than meets the eye. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers From threatening Robert while he was in prison, to hovering over him with a syringe in the back of his van, John hasn’t made a very good first impression. Robert is determined to find out what exactly he is hiding. And with his history, maybe it’s John who should be scared. But in the middle of it all is Victoria, their sister. And she is desperate for them to get on. So, to fix things, she brought them to the old grounds that the Sugden’s used to own and gave them a reminder of their family history. It was right there, Robert and John shook hands and basically declared war on each other. And as the camera panned away, it showed us one final full view of the fields – hinting that something more could come. It seems fitting that that same field from their family history could mark the end of their story. And they believed that sometime soon, we will see it again for a huge Sugden showdown. They wrote: “Oh Robert has so got this in the bag. No one plays the sweet and innocent better than he does. This is how he will win Aaron over, I’m telling you! Also please tell me that field is a hint at a final showdown between Robert and John there?!” Another commented: “Yes, we are heading into the iconic Robert era. He knows how to play dirty!” A third penned that perhaps Robert tries to rebuild the Sugden legacy, which will lead to the final showdown. They posted: “Robert rebuilding the Sugden legacy by making a fortune all on his own and becoming a successful businessman would be so amazing.” Whether or not the soap actually was foreshadowing anything remains to be seen.
