It was November 2025 when we last saw Archie and then he raised a few eyebrows. And now months later he has appeared in scenes only for fans to question just how old he is. Archie hasn’t been seen in a while (Credit: ITV) Who is Archie in Emmerdale? Archie in Emmerdale is the son of Jai Sharma and the late Rachel Breckle. In the early years of his life, he lived with Rachel away from the village. However, Rachel and Archie returned to the Emmerdale village in 2015 where a very nasty custody battle between his parents took place. And this resulted in Archie and Rachel once again leaving the village. But things took a huge turn in 2019 when Rachel unexpectedly died off-screen and so Archie returned to Emmerdale. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers He was involved in a bullying story in 2019 with Arthur Thomas and has only appeared a handful of times since then. However more recently he has been appearing a little more as he develops a relationship with his dad. Tonight he popped up on screen as he arrived at Jai’s office for help with his maths homework. Only Jai wasn’t there, Kerry was. And she didn’t look to see who had walked into the room before making a remark about a dirty picture she’d sent to Jai the previous night. Oops! Red-faced, she offerd to help Archie with his homework instead. And despite not being brilliant at maths, she did manage to help him in her own sepcial way.Don't miss a single story! Archie was seen with Kerry (Credit: ITV) How old is Kai Assi in Emmerdale? Archie’s appearance caused a stir online as one fan commented: “How has Archie gone from 5 to 16?? He’s got a moustache and grown about 5ft!” “In weeks he’s aged 10 years,” was also added. Another queried: “Is it still the same actor playing Archie?” So how old is Archie then? The character of Archie Breckle was born on December 13 2012. That makes him 13 years old, to turn 14 this year. Actor Kai was also born in 2012, which would make him around 13 or 14 years old now. Kerry gives Jai parenting advice (Credit: ITV) Has Archie been recast in Emmerdale? This question was asked last year when Archie made his first appearance in a year. Jai and Kerry were bonding over their children after they got locked in an office together. Kerry opened up about losing Amy, while Jai admitted he doesn’t spend enough time with Archie. And then Archie makes his first appearance in over a year after being last seen mid-way through 2024. He got annoyed at Jai for again not being able to spend time with him because of work. And so Kerry encouraged Jai to pull a sickie and spend time with his son instead. On social media at the time, some fans wondered if Archie had been recast. One wrote: “When I saw this Emmerdale pic I had to double check if Archie had been recast. But nope, that is still Kai Assi.” Kai took on the role of Archie in 2019 when the character made a return.
