Emmerdale fans think he might confess John should have a very guilty conscience John Sugden John's Secret Life Share By Rebecca Sayers 13th June 2025 By Rebecca Sayers 13th June 2025 John Sugden is a very guilty man in Emmerdale. But some fans think he may actually confess to everything he has done. Over the last few months, John Sugden‘s list of crimes just keeps getting longer. But somehow, nobody has caught on. And so, he keeps getting away with it. But last night (June 12) when Tracy was arrested for Nate’s death, and Aaron found John hiding his mail, fans thought John looked stressed. And perhaps, the guilt could eat away at him and he might surprise everyone by confessing. Guilty conscience or fear of being caught? (Credit: ITV) John’s guilt over Nate’s death When John killed Nate all those months ago, it looked like he didn’t want him to die. He just had a deep need to be the hero. Just like he has on multiple other occasions since. But Nate still died, and John covered it up. He spent months trying to make sure nobody cared about Nate’s whereabouts. Unfortunately for him, it didn’t work out very well. And Nate’s body was found. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers However, nobody has any reason to suspect that he did it. And instead, it’s currently Cain vs Tracy. So, when John realised Aaron was upset that Cain was being blamed, he made it his mission to be the one to save him. To do this, he began plotting, and planted Nate’s phone in Frankie’s playhouse – just in time for the police to find it. And ultimately, Tracy was arrested. But some fans think John’s beginning to unravel, and he may just end up confessing his sins to one person – Aaron. Some fans think John’s guilt will get too much (Credit: ITV) John to confess? Taking to a Reddit thread, one fan proposed the idea that John may breakdown and reveal what really happened to Nate. They wrote: “After tonight’s episode, we can see John struggling with the blame placed on Tracy. And he feels guilt for her and Cain. We also saw in the flashbacks that he clearly didn’t want Nate to die. He just wanted to save him and be the hero in his own twisted way. “My question is do you think the guilt will be too much to bare and either Aaron will start to notice his demeanour and night terrors and put the pieces together? or will John outright confess to Aaron what he has done, and attempt to frame it in a way he comes out the hero as he usually tries to do.” Another fan agreed: “He is on some kind of messed up journey to make things right…” However some others think his expressions weren’t out of guilt – but fear of being caught. One commented: “I don’t think John is remorseless or emotionless, but someone who is motivated by self preservation. He is living a lie that is snowballing out of his control and he is most afraid of being exposed. I think he knows what he is doing is bad, but he sees it as necessary and that fear of being caught outweighs any guilt.” While we don’t know how or when John will be caught out, it’s safe to say Emmerdale fans are desperate for it to come to an end soon.
