Fans had grown concerned for both the character and actress ever since Lydia failed to appear at her own 50th birthday party. We know right… But, now, she’s just returned back to the village. Phew. She wasn’t present at her own birthday party (Credit: ITV) Lydia Dingle goes ‘missing’ in Emmerdale Lydia had been spending some time with her mum away from Emmerdale village, with Sam Dingle trying to make sure nothing goes wrong while she’s away. She was expected to be the star of the show as Kim worked alongside Sam to throw a surprise party for her at Home Farm. But, with Lydia stuck in traffic (typical), she actually failed to miss the party. Just as well as it meant she wasn’t a suspect in Joe Tate’s whodunnit. And , Sam had more recently told Kim that Lydia’s getting on okay back seeing her mum… despite apparently returning home just the other week. And, fans were pretty concerned. Where is Lydia? (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale fans fear for Lydia Dingle’s future on the show With Lydia being talked about but not actually seen on screen for months, fans grew concerned about both the character and actress Karen Blick. One moment she had broken down on the way to her party, and the next she’d decided to return back to looking after her sick mum… Taking to X, one fan shared: “What is the story with Lydia, back again with her sick mother, has the actress left?” Another fan commented: “Lydia – who has joined the bunch of characters in the attic (those who haven’t emigrated to Australia, that is).” A third person asked: “Anyone know how long it takes Lydia to change a tyre on the way to her party? Asking for a friend lol.” Will she return soon? (Credit: ITV) Lydia Dingle and Karen Blick future on Emmerdale confirmed Tonight, fans finally got answers over Lydia Dingle’s whereabouts. Emmerdale scenes confirmed that Karen Blick was still very much a part of the cast. While we’re unsure why Karen took such a long break from filming, we were given answers as to Lydia’s whereabouts. Returning to the village, Lydia reunited with Kim Tate and told her that her mum was on the mend. She was bossing her about again. She’d still have to go back and forth now and then but she was back at home again. Kim was thrilled, we were thrilled. And, so was Joe Tate who admitted that he was fed up of dusting in Lydia’s place.
