There’s been lots of shouting, stealing (thankfully not human organs this week, just class-A drugs), sneaking around, and stalking. We know. There’s a lot going on in this week’s Emmerdale review. Possibly too much. Which is why we thought Nicola had the right idea when she plotted to slope off with Brenda for three months. We were just about ready to go with her, if we’re honest! But, Nicola’s staying put and so must we. Here’s what we thought of the action in the Emmerdale review of the week. Maybe next week will be calmer (yeah, right). Lock the cabinet for the love of god (credit: ITV) Security issues We know that countryside folk are all about going out and leaving their front doors wide open and whatnot. But we are here to tell you that Emmerdale is not like other villages when it comes to crime – poor PC Swirling barely gets a minute to himself these days, what with all the murders and kidney thefts and crazed stalkers. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Plus, there’s all the stealing of drugs from the cabinet in the vets’ surgery, which is very easy to get to via the connecting door from Marlon and Rhona’s cottage. This week April became the latest person to nick a load of ketamine from said cabinet, to use it to torment her dad, Marlon by pretending to have overdosed. April’s off-the-chart behaviour is a headache there’s no doubt about it, but so is the vets’ lax attitude to drug control. For the love of god, won’t someone buy a better, more secure cupboard?! Maybe one with a code so wayward teens and chefs can’t pilfer the keys. And perhaps it could be time to block up that connecting door, eh? Or stick a bookshelf in front of it. Anything to stop the wandering from cottage to surgery and back again. And it could stop Paddy nicking all Marlon’s biscuits, too. Another day in Emmerdale, another stolen bottle of ketamine (Credit: ITV) Marlon and April and ALL THE SHOUTING Where to begin with April and Marlon? She is one messed-up teenager and we’re still slightly baffled as to why. Sure the whole mum-suicide thing isn’t great, but compared to what some people in Emmerdale have been through, it’s small beans. Anyhoo, at the start of this week she was out of control, nicking drugs and fake-overdosing and all that. Rhona was very cross about it all, and Marlon finally gave his daughter a piece of his mind. Then Rhona who was even angrier now – told them both off – and rightly so. But then Marlon put a tracker in April’s coat and then Rhona was FUMING. But then Marlon told April about the tracker… It’s very wearisome. The pair seem to be on the right track now, though, so fingers crossed that’s enough of the drama, because we’re not sure we can take much more. “Nope, there’s nothing I can think of that would keep me here in Emmerdale. Nothing at all.” (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale review: Be more Nicola Nicola King left us scratching our heads this week when she hatched a plan to join Brenda on her all-expenses-paid, round-the-world, THREE MONTH LONG cruise. It sounds idyllic of course, but Nicola seemed to have forgotten that she has three children, a useless husband, an elderly and occasionally badly behaved father, and a job. Not once did she wonder how she could manage to leave all that behind and swan off round the world for three months. And actually, we quite respect that. Maybe we should all #bemorenicola? Who’s Bradley playing? Could it be TJ Woods? (Credit: ITV/Composite: EI) Hope for Hopes Bob is all alone and we do not like it. BUT there is some hope on the horizon. Or rather, some Hopes. Ho ho. We are convinced that all the worrying Cathy and April did this week about him being in the B&B by himself is building up to the return of his grandson TJ Woods. We still don’t know who Heartstopper star Bradley Riches will be playing and we’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed he’s TJ. Bob deserves to be surrounded by family and have some proper storylines to get his teeth into. Emmerdale review: Ella’s gone And so, our Emmerdale review bids farewell to Ella. Her going off the rails was – we have to admit – a bit weird but we liked it. If only she’d been like that all along, eh? We must admit the whole thing was slightly confusing and we didn’t really know if she had done all the things she was acused of or not. Which, we’re guessing is the point. Perhaps someone else did those things *hard stare at John Sugden*. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed it all and we’re just sorry it’s over! And so has Brenda Goodbye lovely Brenda! We’ll miss you! We’re sad to see her go. Joe’s mooning around over Dawn (Credit: ITV/Composite: EI) Joe and Dawn, and Joe’s recovery When it comes to Joe and his kidney we can’t even… So he’s mooning about over Dawn, she’s mooning about over him, like they’re star-crossed lovers or something. WEIRD. Meanwhile Joe’s suddenly besties with his Uncle Caleb and FaceTiming him and all sorts. And back at Home Farm, Dawn even took her hoodie off for a glamorous night out at *checks notes* The Hide. What is happening?! Speaking of the action at Home Farm, we were pleased to see super-cute little Thomas this week. Word to the wise, though, Thomas – maybe just have a quick look and check you’ve still got both your kidneys… Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale in 2025?
