Upcoming Emmerdale spoilers: Robert to take down John, Bear's behaviour explained, vicious newcomers and surprise returnees

Well, what a week it’s been on Emmerdale – and spoilers for the next few months reveal the drama is going to keep coming – thick, fast and dirty!

On screen this week we saw Tracy framed for Nate’s murder and arrested after giving a false alibi, and Bear’s been acting strangely – again.

Plus, Robert has been beaten-up in prison and Victoria is worried about him. But Aaron won’t go to see his ex, determined to focus on his marriage to John.

And we already know from spoilers for Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20 what we can expect to play out on screen then – Robert is returning, but Bear goes missing.

Beyond this we can look forward to watching some big storylines reach crunch point, some familiar faces return to the village – and some brand new characters sweep in to stir up some trouble.

1. Robert Sugden to take down half-brother John

So Robert is back next week, but what happens after that? Well we know John hints he isn’t someone to be messed with, which causes Robert to grow suspicious of the brother he already hates.

Actor Ryan Hawley recently revealed to The Mirror and other press, that Robert will be working to expose John’s true colours.

“He loves his family, maybe he wouldn’t admit it but he loves the village and the community,” Ryan said. “He’d want to protect that, and going forward I think he does try to reveal John for who he is.”

So is Robert in danger?

Ryan continued: “Who knows… there’s lots of motive for John to get rid of Robert. He is a huge inconvenience and an obstacle in relation to Aaron. As much as he hates him he is still family, but what does that say about John and his morals and who he is?”

“Would he go as far as to kill his own family? We will have to wait and see.”

We can’t wait and are pretty desperate for John’s comeuppance sooner rather than later.

2. Bear’s mysterious behaviour explained in Emmerdale spoilers

Bear Wolf has been acting oddly. Theories are floating around over what’s wrong with him – from dementia, to depression, but so far we don’t know much.

This week he left his sleeping tablets out and little Eve started playing with them. Although crisis was averted and she didn’t take any, Paddy was furious. Next week things reach boiling point as Bear angrily lashes out at Kammy and then vanishes.

Show boss Laura Shaw has already revealed this will become a “big storyline” – so what do we know?

“He’s going off screen for a little while,” she said. “He’ll go missing and when he comes back what you’ll see is a very different Bear in a very different situation.

“We’re all going to be watching going: ‘what the hell has happened here?'”

Given that’s already what we’re thinking, we can’t get much more confused!

3. Aaron and Mack’s big storyline

Although we don’t know how long John Sugden and Aaron will stay married for, what we do know is that headed into autumn, Aaron has a big storyline coming up. It involves Mackenzie Boyd and we’ll finally see the outcome of Mack’s flashforward.

Laura Shaw said: “It’s a big week of episodes which is going to be life-changing for those two.”.

So any guesses on what it could be? Something tells us it might be to do with one of the newcomers arriving in town…

4. Two new faces played by Joe Absolom and Jaye Griffiths arrive in Emmerdale and are set to be trouble

Spoilers have revealed that Joe Absolom is joining Emmerdale as mysterious Ray – an old business contact of Mackenzie’s. But although Ray appears to be selling farm machinery, in fact he is involved in the drug world.

So could drugs and Ray be part of Aaron and Mack’s big story?

Elsewhere, Moira’s the one in trouble when new farmer Celia wants to rent some of her fields. Moira is aware Celia, played by Jaye Griffiths, has a reputation so refuses to enter into business with her. That might just be a big mistake. Huge.

5. Bernice’s return for Gabby and Vinny’s wedding, Emmerdale spoilers report

So Vinny has tried to kiss Kammy. Which is surprising within itself, but also not that surprising given Gabby’s history with gay men (see previous fiancé Nicky) – and her mum’s perchant for getting involved with them too.

But we hear a wedding is on the cards, despite Vinny’s move, and Bernice is set to be returning for it. This has not been confirmed by the soap as yet, but will she be welcome if she does return?

6. More returnees in Emmerdale spoilers

It’s not only Bernice who is set to be coming back, we have it confirmed that Dylan will return. With April still struggling following her time on the streets, the only person she feels understands her will be back in the Dales.

Dylan has been to rehab, but has it helped him get clean? And will he bring more trouble to Marlon and Rhona’s door?

Laura Shaw has revealed: “He’s going to be bringing his past back to the village with him and that’s going to cause a few problems for April and the wider family. We’ve got a couple of exciting new castings joining us for that story.”
