Afterwards, Mick and Simo try to convince Bear he’s been brainwashed by Ray and join him in their great escape. But will Bear make a run for it or stay with his captor? Celia forces Bear and Ray to dig a grave for Anya (Credit: ITV) Bear makes a heartbreaking discovery in Emmerdale spoilers Emmerdale’s modern slavery storyline has seen Bear lured into Celia and Ray’s dangerous world. He, and other victims, have been groomed and abused by the evil mum and son and forced to carry out back-breaking work while living in squalid conditions. Last week, Bear’s friend and fellow captive Anya fell gravely ill after a wound on her leg turned septic. Ray refused to let her go to hospital and the young mum ended up dying in Bear’s arms. Days on from Anya’s tragic passing, Bear learns via Mick and Simo that Ray has dumped Anya’s body in the feed shed. Ray’s lack of dignity and care makes Bear see red, as he lashes out and pins Ray up against a wall. Ray manages to talk Bear down, but is worried when Bear insists Anya must have a funeral. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Bear pays his respects to his dead friend (Credit: ITV) Bear is forced to dig Anya’s grave With Bear refusing to back down, Celia is forced to come up with a plan. As dark falls, she leads Bear and Ray out into one of Butler’s fields and reveals they’ll be holding a makeshift funeral for Anya. The lack of formality troubles Bear. But that’s nothing compared to his horror when he realises Celia expects him and Ray to dig Anya’s grave. Forced to follow their boss’s orders, the job gets done and Anya is buried. Afterwards, Bear stands over the grave and delivers a heartfelt speech about Anya, as cold-hearted Celia looks on, devoid of emotion. Later, Mick and Simo try to convince Bear he’s fallen victim to brainwashing and reveal their plans to escape. Bear lies on the bed and stares at a photo of Anya, unsure who – or what – to believe. His thoughts also turn to Paddy and the life he left behind. What will Bear do? Is he going to join Mick and Simo and escape Ray and Celia? Or will he stay and face further horrors? Mick and Simo tell Bear they’re getting out (Credit: ITV) Joshua Richards speaks out It seems actor Joshua Richards, who plays Bear, thinks there is little hope for him going back to his old life. He described Bear as “too far gone”. “He’s too far gone at this point, he’s decided in his mind already that he’s walked out the door and he’s never be coming back,” Joshua explained. “I don’t think he wants to leave at all. He doesn’t want to upset anybody. He’s lost and adrift so he’s not really part of anyone’s team apart from maybe Ray. “In a way he’s taken himself away from the love of his son and his own family.
