MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2018
England v Panama
England v Panama (Kick-off 1.00pm). Gary Lineker presents coverage of both sides' second Group G match, taking place at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in Russia. Gareth Southgate's men come into this fixture following a last-gasp 2-1 win over Tunisia on Monday, with captain Harry Kane proving to be his country's hero with both goals. Tournament debutants Panama did well to hold Belgium in the first half of their opener, but Roberto Martinez's side proved too strong in the second half and eventually ran out 3-0 victors. England will be looking to make it out of the group stages of the World Cup for the first time since 2010 after their poor performance at the tournament four years ago. The Three Lions drew one and lost two fixtures in 2014, failing to win a game in a group that also featured Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica. Recently announced captain Harry Kane will lead his side out in his first-ever World Cup and will be expected to provide the goals that England have desperately needed in the group stages in the past, with the Three Lions only scoring 11 goals in 12 group matches since the turn of the century. They'll be facing opponents who are playing in their first-ever World Cup, with Panama progressing after finishing third in the CONCACAF qualifying group. They finished above the likes of the USA and Trinidad & Tobago, with the President of Panama declaring a national holiday after they made it through to the finals. With analysis from Alan Shearer, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand, and commentary by Guy Mowbray and Danny Murphy

MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2018
Japan v Senegal
Japan v Senegal (Kick-off 4.00pm). Mark Chapman presents all the action from both teams' second matches in Group H, held at Ekaterinburg Arena, Russia. In what was widely regarded as something of a shock, both of these teams won their opening contests on Tuesday, both by the same 2-1 scoreline. Japan overcame Colombia, thanks largely to the first red card of the tournament, given to Carlos Sanchez in the third minute for handball. Senegal then defeated Poland, with Thiago Cionek's own goal and an Mbaye Niang strike proving enough for the Lions of Teranga. This is the first competitive meeting between the nations, and Japan have won both friendlies contested by the sides, though the most recent of those was back in 2002. The Asian outfit qualified for their sixth consecutive World Cup finals by finishing top of a group containing Saudi Arabia, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Thailand. Senegal don't boast the same experience, as they are playing in their first finals since 2002, but will draw confidence from their dominant performances in qualifying, which saw them comfortably win their group ahead of Burkina Faso, Cape Verde and South Africa. With analysis from Didier Drogba, Phil Neville and Pablo Zabaleta, and commentary by Simon Brotherton and Kevin Kilbane

Iran v Portugal
Iran v Portugal (Kick-off 7.00pm). Gary Lineker presents coverage of the match at Mordovia Arena in Saransk, where the teams play their final fixture in Group B. There is everything to play for in this encounter, as a win for either side would see them clinch a place in the last 16. A draw would also be enough for Portugal, but not Iran due to their inferior head-to-head record against Spain. These nations were also drawn alongside each other at the 2006 competition in Germany, and the Portuguese will have fond memories of that encounter, given that the 2-0 victory they secured contributed to them topping the group to progress to the knockout stage. Despite the win, the contest was much closer than anticipated, with both goals coming in the second half, including an 80th minute penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo. While Iran have never made it beyond the group stage at a World Cup, they do have a respectable pedigree at the Asian Cup, and have reached at least the quarter-finals at the last six editions, including two third-placed finishes, so they do have experience of reaching a knockout phase. During qualifying for this World Cup they also had a prolific goalscorer they could rely on in Sardar Azmoun, who plays his club football in Russia, and scored 11 times, while several of the players usually called up to their squad also play in Europe, including regular captain Ashkan Dejagah, formerly of Nottingham Forest and Fulham. With commentary by Steve Bower and Mark Lawrenson

Nigeria v Argentina
Nigeria v Argentina (Kick-off 7.00pm). Gary Lineker presents coverage of the Group D clash at Saint Petersburg Stadium, as the teams play their third and final match of the round-robin stage. These nations are not strangers when it comes to facing each other at the World Cup, having been drawn in the same group as each other on four previous occasions, which is even more remarkable when one considers Nigeria have only made five appearances at the finals prior to this tournament. The first time was at USA 94, when the Super Eagles managed to top the group despite losing 2-1 to the South Americans, while the second encounter in 2002 saw Argentina triumph again, this time 1-0 in Japan, but both teams were eliminated after finishing behind Sweden and England. The other meetings took place at the two most recent tournaments, with Argentina also emerging triumphant 1-0 in South Africa in 2010, when they progressed to the knockout phase and Nigeria finished bottom of the group, before they claimed yet another win in Brazil four years ago, this time by a score of 3-2 following a pulsating affair. Senegal v Colombia
Senegal v Colombia (Kick-off 3.00pm). Gary Lineker presents coverage of both teams' third and final match of Group H, which comes from Samara Arena in Russia. The only previous meeting between the sides was a friendly four years ago, which ended 2-2 despite no further goals being scored by either team following Ibrahima Seck's 66th-minute red card for the Africans. With both countries capable of exciting attacking football, another high-scoring encounter could be possible, despite there being considerably more riding on this fixture. Colombia's performances in reaching the quarter-finals four years ago mean they are likely to go into the fixture as favourites, but Senegal are much improved in recent years and will be looking to emulate their heroics in 2002, when they reached the last eight. With analysis from Phil Neville, Didier Drogba and Cesc Fabregas, and commentary by Simon Brotherton and Mark Lawrenson
