The 30 best films on Apple TV to watch in November 2025
If you've never seen Swan Song or Killers of the Flower Moon, now is your chance...
Apple TV is an absolute must as the winter nights creep closer, but what are the best films on offer?
Since the streaming platform’s 2019 arrival, everyone from Scarlett Johansson to Denzel Washington has made an Apple Original.
In the definitive list below, we’ve sectioned off the Top 30 movies for readers to lose themselves in. Trust us, load ’em up and switch off from the outside world (as a certain Mark Strong used to so smoothly encourage at Vue chains).
30. Fly Me to the Moon

- Genre: Romance, Comedy
- Year: 2024
- Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Woody Harrelson
- Director: Greg Berlanti
- Runtime: 2 hours 12 minutes
What it’s about: Set against the backdrop of NASA’s iconic Apollo 11 mission, this rom-com concerns advertising executive Kelly Jones as she’s charged with designing a false lunar landing in case the real one goes wrong.
Why to watch: How about Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum for a power duo? Sparks (or should that be meteorites) fly in this old-school charmer that throws Woody Harrelson and Ray Romano in for good measure. Fly Me to the Moon might just reignite your childhood curiosity in the celestial beyond.
29. The Greatest Beer Run Ever

- Genre: Drama, Comedy
- Year: 2022
- Cast: Zac Efron, Russell Crowe, Jake Picking
- Director: Peter Farrelly
- Runtime: 2 hours 6 minutes
What it’s about: We’re in far-flung Vietnam during the war with daredevil John ‘Chickie’ Donohue. Hearing that one of his friends has gone missing whilst serving for their country, Chickie heads out there, armed with a load of Pabst Blue Ribbon beers to raise spirits.
Why to watch: Incredibly, this happened for real. US Marine Chickie actually ventured out into chaotic Vietnamese territory just to give his mates a liquid pick-me-up. Zac Efron, Russell Crowe and Bill Murray star, with Green Book’s Peter Farrelly calling the directorial shots.
28. Spirited

- Genre: Musical, Comedy
- Year: 2022
- Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, Octavia Spencer
- Director: Sean Anders
- Runtime: 2 hours 7 minutes
What it’s about: In this goofy reimagining of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, the Ghost of Christmas Present (that’s Ebenezer Scrooge here) is knocking on the door of retirement. But there’s one last opportunity to spread some wisdom by visiting the “unredeemable” Clint Briggs.
Why to watch: “Haven’t we got enough variations of Scrooge already?” you may rightly wonder. Well, we take your point, but it’s Will Ferrell’s turn in Spirited, going toe-to-toe with Ryan Reynolds on screen for the first time. And it’s a musical!
27. Greyhound

- Genre: War, Drama
- Year: 2020
- Cast: Tom Hanks, Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan
- Director: Aaron Schneider
- Runtime: 1 hour 31 minutes
What it’s about: US Navy commander Ernest Krause’s first assignment is to control operations within a multinational escort destroyer group. They’re in the midst of the six-year Battle of the Atlantic during World War II, defending an Allied convoy from Nazi U-boats.
Why to watch: If Saving Private Ryan was anything to go by, two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks in another war epic guarantees greatness. There’s no fat on Greyhound either, running for an efficient and rousing 90 minutes.
26. All of You

- Genre: Sci-fi, Romance, Drama
- Year: 2024
- Cast:Brett Goldstein, Imogen Poots, Zawe Ashton
- Director: William Bridges
- Runtime: 1 hour 38 minutes
What it’s about: When Simon’s best friend (and crush) Laura takes the groundbreaking Soul Connex test to identify her romantic match, he’s disappointed to find it’s not him. Yet the two eventually have a fling, risking their very lives.
Why to watch: Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein sheds the grumpiness to show a new shade of his repertoire. Imogen Poots plays Simon’s one true love Laura, and the chemistry between them never flattens. A decent futuristic drama for a crisp November Sunday.
25. Raymond & Ray

- Genre: Drama, Comedy
- Year: 2022
- Cast: Ewan McGregor, Ethan Hawke, Maribel Verdú
- Director: Rodrigo García
- Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes
What it’s about: The eponymous half-brothers reunite for their estranged dad’s funeral, whose dying wish was for them to dig his final resting place. This distressing task forces them to address their psychological bruises and resentment towards him.
Why to watch: Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke paint the screen with classy performances, even though the movie itself might be weighed down by mediocrity. Music composer Jeff Beal worked on the documentary Blackfish, if that counts for anything.
24. Argylle

- Genre: Action, Comedy
- Year: 2024
- Cast: Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa
- Director: Matthew Vaughn
- Runtime: 2 hours 19 minutes
What it’s about: Antisocial author Elly Conway’s beloved spy stories mysteriously begin to mirror events in her own world. As a result, she must stay one step ahead of a deadly syndicate with the help of espionage extraordinaire Aidan Wilde.
Why to watch: Anything with the mighty Sam Rockwell in deserves a look, let’s be real. Boosting Argylle’s credentials is the man in the director’s chair, Matthew Vaughn, who previously delivered cinematic razzmatazz with Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class.
23. The Instigators

- Genre: Action, Comedy
- Year: 2024
- Cast: Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Hong Chau
- Director: Doug Liman
- Runtime: 1 hour 44 minutes
What it’s about: Unlikely criminals Rory and Cobby botch an attempted heist on a corrupt politician. They proceed to go on the run – as is tradition – with law enforcers and gangsters on their tail. Strangely enough, Rory’s therapist might be the key to their safety.
Why to watch: The Instigators is harmless action-packed fun, with two heavyweights in Casey Affleck and Matt Damon pulling no punches as these hapless thieves. Its supporting cast is a doozy; look out for Spider-Man 2 legend Alfred Molina, The Hack’s Toby Jones and original Hellboy, Ron Perlman.
22. F1: The Movie

- Genre: Drama, Sports
- Year: 2025
- Cast: Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem
- Director: Joseph Kosinski
- Runtime: 2 hours 35 minutes
What it’s about: The clue is very much in the title this time around. After 30 years of obscurity, Formula One veteran Sonny Hayes agrees to mentor and race alongside Team APXGP’s prodigious star Joshua Pearce in the world’s greatest track competition.
Why to watch: Top Gun: Maverick visionary Joseph Kosinski and Brad Pitt latch onto the fervent phenomenon of Netflix’s Drive to Survive, putting viewers inside the speed machines that risk the lives of their masters every weekend. This Hollywoodisation didn’t need to be so long, though.
21. Blitz

- Genre: War, Drama
- Year: 2025
- Cast: Saoirse Ronan, Harris Dickinson, Stephen Graham, Eddie Marsan
- Director: Steve McQueen
- Runtime: 2 hours
What it’s about: During the Second World War, London kid George rips up the rule book by fleeing his evacuation train to the country in an attempt to return home to his worried mum.
Why to watch: Stephen Graham turns up as a street urchin halfway through the movie, bringing an oddly comforting Dickensian flavour to the piece. Blitz is also the latest offering from 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen, so there’s a lot going for it.
20. Wolfs

- Genre: Action, Thriller, Comedy
- Year: 2024
- Cast: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams
- Director: Jon Watts
- Runtime: 1 hour 48 minutes
What it’s about: One night, two rival ‘fixers’ are thrust together to sort out a high-profile incident, leading to plenty of star-powered bickering and hijinks.
Why to watch: Wolfs, if anything, is honourable for putting George Clooney and Brad Pitt back on screen together for the first time since Ocean’s Thirteen. Two decades might’ve passed since the era of Danny Ocean and Rusty Ryan, but their portrayers retain that magnetism.
19. The Banker

- Genre: Drama
- Year: 2020
- Cast: Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult
- Director: George Nolfi
- Runtime: 2 hours
What it’s about: In the ’60s, entrepreneurs Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris devise a plan to stamp out racist banking and housing attitudes. To achieve this, they hire white guy Matt Steiner to pose as the top brass of their business empire.
Why to watch: Once again, we’re in the realm of true events, which tends to give movies an added intrigue we think you’ll agree. Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson and Nicholas Hoult appear as the main trio to earn The Banker a strong 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
18. Fancy Dance

- Genre: Drama, Crime
- Year: 2024
- Cast: Lily Gladstone, Isabel Deroy-Olson, Shea Whigham
- Director: Erica Tremblay
- Runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes
What it’s about: After her sister Tawi goes missing and leaves daughter Roki behind at the Seneca-Cayuga reservation, Jax and her niece embark on a road trip in the hope of finding their loved one before the state powwow begins.
Why to watch: Starring the Oscar-nominated Lily Gladstone, Fancy Dance is an emotional collage punctured by the harsh realities faced by Indigenous people. Family dramas like this one are few and far between.
17. Sharper

- Genre: Thriller, Crime
- Year: 2023
- Cast: Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan, Justice Smith
- Director: Benjamin Caron
- Runtime: 1 hour 56 minutes
What it’s about: Executed non-linearly, New York City con artists attempt to outsmart local billionaires. But what are their motives, and can any of them trust the others?
Why to watch: One of the best movies to stream on Apple TV this month, Sharper is an intelligent neo-noir thriller populated by mysterious schemers in the form of Sebastian Stan and Julianne Moore. The constant rug-pulling means you can’t take your eyes away for a second.
16. Cherry

- Genre: Crime, Drama
- Year: 2021
- Cast: Tom Holland, Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor
- Director: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo
- Runtime: 2 hours 21 minutes
What it’s about: Having served his country as a medic in Iraq, college dropout Cherry returns home with PTSD. He subsequently turns to drugs and robbing banks with his wife to pay for their addiction.
Why to watch: Marvel Studios hero Tom Holland proves he can tough it out in the psychological depths of the addicted mind. There’s no CGI sugarcoating going on — even though Avengers geniuses Anthony and Joe Russo direct – just hardcore misery and desperation.
15. Napoleon

- Genre: Drama
- Year: 2023
- Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Vanessa Kirby
- Director: Ridley Scott
- Runtime: 2 hours 37 minutes
What it’s about: Historical figure Napoleon Bonaparte rises to power amid the French Revolution. Yet his tumultuous relationship with Joséphine brings him down a peg or two when he’s not orchestrating battle triumphs.
Why to watch: This 2023 epic marked a welcome reunion for Gladiator’s Ridley Scott and Joaquin Phoenix; the latter coming off a career-best performance as Arthur Fleck in Joker. As we’ve come to expect from the filmmaker, Napoleon’s blistering battlefields are something to behold.
14. The Gorge

- Genre: Sci-fi, Horror
- Year: 2025
- Cast: Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sigourney Weaver
- Director: Scott Derrickson
- Runtime: 2 hours 7 minutes
What it’s about: Levi and Drasa are snipers manning two separate guard towers that bracket a gorge. They’re told that the gorge is the gateway to Hell and must destroy anything that tries to climb out of it.
Why to watch: Considering director Scott Derrickson’s history behind the camera, this creature feature is nowhere near as scary as it could’ve been. Instead, he hones in on the forbidden relationship between the elite marksmen played by a flirtatious Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy.
13. The Lost Bus

- Genre: Drama, Thriller
- Year: 2025
- Cast: Matthew McConaughey, America Ferrera, Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson
- Director: Paul Greengrass
- Runtime: 2 hours 10 minutes
What it’s about: During California’s 2018 Camp Fire, bus driver Kevin McKay navigates the swirling flames with 22 school children and their teachers onboard.
Why to watch: Another real-life American hero finds himself at the centre of a star-backed drama. Good job this story is in the hands of Matthew McConaughey and the Bourne franchise’s Paul Greengrass, because The Lost Bus could’ve easily turned out to be an offensive Speed knockoff.
12. Finch

- Genre: Sci-fi, Drama
- Year: 2021
- Cast: Tom Hanks, Caleb Landry Jones, Skeet Ulrich
- Director: Miguel Sapochnik
- Runtime: 1 hour 55 minutes
What it’s about: Post-apocalypse dweller Finch Weinberg builds an android named Jeff to take care of his beloved pooch Goodyear when he dies.
Why to watch: Although there’s a lack of genre exploration on display – this scorched Earth is pretty bland – leading man Tom Hanks can do no wrong in our eyes. Round of applause for Caleb Landry Jones too, whose motion-capture job as Jeff warms the heart.
11. Tetris

- Genre: Drama
- Year: 2023
- Cast: Taron Egerton, Nikita Efremov, Toby Jones
- Director: Jon S. Baird
- Runtime: 1 hour 58 minutes
What it’s about: Tetris follows Dutch computer game specialist Henk Rogers on his dangerous mission to the Soviet Union to acquire the rights to the titular game.
Why to watch: A pulse-quickening video game origin story set during the Cold War, what’s not to get behind? The best compliment this movie ever received was praise from the real-life Henk and Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov.
10. Highest 2 Lowest

- Genre: Crime, Thriller
- Year: 2025
- Cast: Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, A$AP Rocky
- Director: Spike Lee
- Runtime: 2 hours 13 minutes
What it’s about: New York City music magnate David King has a decision to make when his son and his best friend’s son are kidnapped for ransom.
Why to watch: Highest 2 Lowest is the fifth meeting of minds between Spike Lee and Denzel Washington, following their stellar and stylish work on the likes of Inside Man and Malcolm X. Come for that promise of quality, stay for the soundtrack, cinematography, and its compelling moral quandary.
9. Emancipation

- Genre: Drama
- Year: 2022
- Cast: Will Smith, Ben Foster, Charmaine Bingwa
- Director: Antoine Fuqua
- Runtime: 2 hours 12 minutes
What it’s about: 1860s Louisiana. While relentlessly pursued by slave hunters, can escapee Peter make it all the way to the Union Army, fuelled by nothing but his wits and love for his family?
Why to watch: Inspired by the harrowing ‘Whipped Peter’ photos from the same time period, Will Smith’s slave survival tale deserves to be seen by as many eyes as possible. A stomach-churning reminder of mankind’s cruel history, with unbreakable faith shining through.
8. The Tragedy of Macbeth

- Genre: Drama, Thriller
- Year: 2021
- Cast: Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand, Alex Hassell
- Director: Joel Coen
- Runtime: 1 hour 45 minutes
What it’s about: One of William Shakespeare’s most popular creations sees General Macbeth persuaded by a sorcerous prophecy and his ambitious wife to usurp King Duncan.
Why to watch: It’s another Denzel Washington entry in the 30 best Apple TV movies to stream this month. Joel Coen’s idiosyncratic vision is somehow even more elevated by Kathryn Hunter as the three witches whispering in the murderer’s ear. Brendan Gleeson and Frances McDormand co-star.
7. Fingernails

- Genre: Romance, Sci-fi
- Year: 2023
- Cast: Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed, Jeremy Allen White
- Director: Christos Nikou
- Runtime: 1 hour 53 minutes
What it’s about: Even though they’ve taken a test to prove their perfect love, Anna begins to doubt her relationship with Ryan. Getting a job at the Love Institute, she hopes to find out whether the gnarly process is flawed.
Why to watch: A sweeter and more sophisticated cousin of this very list’s All of You, Fingernails contains yet another example of Jessie Buckley’s bottomless abilities. Riz Ahmed is on top form as fellow institute employee Amir, who might just put a spanner in the works for Anna and Ryan.
6. Wolfwalkers

- Genre: Animation, Fantasy
- Year: 2020
- Cast: Honor Kneafsey, Eva Whittaker, Sean Bean
- Director: Tomm Moore, Ross Stewart
- Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes
What it’s about: Apprentice hunter Robyn Goodfellowe and her father journey to Ireland to bring an end to the last wolf pack. But when she befriends a werewolf named Mebh, Robyn’s allegiance is deeply challenged.
Why to watch: Nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the Oscars, Cartoon Saloon’s mesmerising Wolfwalkers is for adults and kids alike, proving that Pixar and Disney do not hold a monopoly on animated masterpieces.
5. Echo Valley

- Genre: Thriller, Drama
- Year: 2025
- Cast: Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney, Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw
- Director: Michael Pearce
- Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes
What it’s about: Kate, who recently lost her husband, is paid a visit by her wayward daughter with somebody else’s blood on her clothes. How far will she go to protect her child?
Why to watch: Generational talents cross paths in Echo Valley as Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney deliver one of this year’s finest psychological thrillers. The way it unfolds is so nail-biting that you’ll be down to the lunula in no time. Plus, who knew Domhnall Gleeson could be such a [bleep]?
4. Swan Song

- Genre: Sci-fi, Drama
- Year: 2021
- Cast: Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, Glenn Close, Awkwafina
- Director: Benjamin Cleary
- Runtime: 1 hour 52 minutes
What it’s about: Husband and father Cameron is diagnosed with a terminal illness. He has two choices: leave his family forever broken, or get himself cloned so they at least have a superficial copy to hold onto.
Why to watch: Cloning dramas are rarely so well executed, with filmmakers tending to get carried away in the science of it all. Mahershala Ali could well be the difference, whose CV is littered with bangers such as Moonlight and The Place Beyond the Pines.
3. CODA

- Genre: Drama
- Year: 2021
- Cast: Emilia Jones, Troy Kotsur, Marlee Matlin, Eugenio Derbez
- Director: Siân Heder
- Runtime: 1 hour 51 minutes
What it’s about: Teenager Ruby is the only member of her family who isn’t deaf. As the tight-knit group’s interpreter, she’s struggling to balance her obligations with a dream of attending a prestigious music school.
Why to watch: Together with predecessor Sound of Metal, CODA (which stands for Child of Deaf Adults) broke boundaries across the industry, putting an underrepresented community full of colourful characters on the mainstream screen. Troy Kotsur went on to win an Oscar for his patriarchal role.
2. Causeway

- Genre: Drama
- Year: 2022
- Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Brian Tyree Henry, Linda Emond
- Director: Lila Neugebauer
- Runtime: 1 hour 32 minutes
What it’s about: US Army engineer Lynsey swaps Afghanistan for New Orleans following a traumatic brain injury. Naturally, adjusting to normal life is difficult, but she finds a kindred spirit in James, a local mechanic.
Why to watch: This is a must for any self-respecting Jennifer Lawrence fan out there. We love her when she’s wild or bossing the Hunger Games, but the more introspective work is where the real juice is.
1. Killers of the Flower Moon

- Genre: Crime, Drama
- Year: 2023
- Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons
- Director: Martin Scorsese
- Runtime: 3 hours 26 minutes
What it’s about: The Osage Nation in 1920s Oklahoma is being mysteriously obliterated after oil is discovered on their land.
Why to watch: Based on the shocking nonfiction book by David Grann (The Lost City of Z), Killers of the Flower Moon proved to be fertile, blood-splashed ground for a Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese collaboration. Crime drama meets the Western. Strap in.
