Celebrity Race Across the World fans pick Anita Rani and 'national treasure' dad Bal as their early winners
They're racing from Mexico to Colombia this time around
Celebrity Race Across the World launched last night (November 6) and, one episode in, viewers are backing Anita Rani and her gorgeous dad Bal as their early winners.
The new series sees Roman Kemp and sister Harleymoon, Molly Rainford and Tyler West, Anita Rani and her dad Bal and Dylan Llewellyn and mum Jackie race from Mexico to Colombia.
And, weeks before the final airs, viewers already reckon they know who’ll win.
Celebrity Race Across the World sees Anita lead by a mile
Last night saw the new series of Celebrity Race Across the World start on BBC One.
The game started well for Countryfile host Anita Rani – who split from her long-term husband in 2023 – and her dad Bal. They reached the first checkpoint first, beating the rest of the teams by a huge 23 hours. Roman and Harleymoon came in second place, with Molly and Tyler and then Dylan and Jackie bringing up the rear.
After watching the first episode, viewers don’t think anyone but Anita and Bal can win it. As well as arriving at the checkpoint first, the father-and-daughter duo also won over viewers with their beautiful relationship. And, after just one 60-minute episode, not only are they tipping the pair to win, they’re also calling Bal a “national treasure”.
‘He needs protecting at all costs’
“Is this just one-horse race?!” commented on viewer. “How brilliant is @itsanitarani’s dad Bal. I reckon it will be them who win,” said a second. A third agreed and said: “Anita and Bal for the win! How lovely is Bal!”
“Anita and Bal are my favourites,” another declared. “Bal is already a national treasure. What a wonderful man,” another added. “Anita Rani’s dad Bal is already my favourite person on this,” another agreed. “I love Anita’s dad!” said another. “Anita’s dad is golden. He needs protecting at all costs,” another declared.
