Celebrity Traitors' Jonathan Ross reacts to claims co-star Ruth Codd 'called him a snake'
He has addressed the apparent 'feud' following his Celebrity Traitors exitJonathan Ross has spoken out after his Celebrity Traitors co-star Ruth Codd reportedly branded him a “snake”.
Ruth, 29, made it clear she thought Jonathan, 64, was a Traitor during her fairly brief spell in the BBC series.
As a result, Jonathan and his fellow Traitors – Alan Carr and Cat Burns – murdered her in the show.
Insiders claimed Ruth had a “meltdown” following her exit and branded Jonathan a “(Beep-ing) snake” behind the scenes.

Jonathan, however, has now addressed his feeling towards Ruth and insisted there is “no beef” between them.
Speaking on his podcast Reel Talk, Jonathan set the record straight and said: “I don’t think there was anyone there I didn’t like.
“Obviously, some people leave earlier than other people so you don’t get to spend as long with them. So you know, the younger people who went out earlier, I didn’t get to spend as much time with Niko [Omilana] or Ruth.
“I’ve spoken to them both since and all our lives are different but I think certainly we were friendly when we met so there’s no beef there. But I’d like to think that we could become friends.”
Celebrity Traitors: Ruth and Jonathan ‘feud’
Ruth was the third celebrity to be murdered in The Celebrity Traitors. Her demise came after the Traitors had killed off Paloma Faith and Tom Daley. Niko Omilana and Tameka Empson had also already been banished during the Round Tables.
Ruth felt particularly riled by her pal Niko’s banishment as she felt it was ‘two-faced’ of Jonathan, who she strongly believed was a Traitor.
Following her exit, Ruth blamed her “big fat mouth” on her murder. She had previously said at the Round Table: “Well I actually have two bones to pick with you, Jonathan. I’m going to light the firework.
“One of the first things you did was make an alliance with Niko and me and Clare in the car. You said it. I just felt like you blindsided Niko. That’s how I feel about it personally.”
She added: “My vote is for Jonathan. I think your behaviour is extremely indicative of a game player.”

TVGuide later proved Jonathan – who voted to banish Niko – was NOT in an alliance with the social media star and Ruth.
Speaking on Uncloaked, Ruth later said: “I think the moment where it all went wrong for me was when I opened my big fat mouth. When I ran my massive mouth at the Round Table. I couldn’t help myself.
“Apparently my sense of injustice took over completely. I always said I’m terrible at games and puzzles so… whoops.”
But an insider, meanwhile, told the Daily Mail: “Ruth was furious after she was murdered during the early stages of filming. She called Jonathan a ‘(bleep-ing) snake’ and really let go of her anger behind the scenes.
“There was definitely frustration from Ruth that her co-stars weren’t listening to her after she correctly identified Jonathan as a Traitor.”
When is the final of The Celebrity Traitors?
There are just two Traitors left in Ardross Castle in Scotland. Last week, Jonathan was rumbled by the Faithfuls and banished from the show. This just leaves Alan and Cat as the last standing Traitors.
The final airs this Thursday and Joe Marler is definitely on to them both. But can he convince fellow Faithfuls David Olusoga and Nick Mohammed of it too?
Only time will tell! You can tune in and find out who wins in The Celebrity Traitors: The Final at 9pm on BBC One on Thursday November 6, 2025. The show will run for a full 70 juicy minutes!
