Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill - The Body Coach to perform 'highly provocative stunt' in new Channel 4 show

Joe Wicks is set to take part in a “highly provocative stunt” for a new Channel 4 show called Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill. 

The star, who is also known to fans as The Body Coach, is teaming up with TV doctor, Dr Chris van Tulleken, for the programme.

Channel 4 has revealed very little detail about the show, which has left fans scratching their heads. The only information released is the programme’s name, when it airs and that it involves this “highly provocative stunt”.

But TVGuide has done some digging. Here’s what we’ve discovered about Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill.

What is Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill about?

Channel 4 might be keeping tight-lipped, but Joe isn’t. Although he hasn’t actually unveiled the “stunt” he will be performing, he has revealed Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill is a documentary about ultra-processed food.

Speaking on Instagram, Joe says: “I’ve been filming a really important documentary this year. It’s called Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill and it’s all about exploring and understanding the ingredients that going into our food. The ultra-processed that we are consuming.

“I’ve definitely stepped out of my comfort zone with this, but I’m really hoping you enjoy it, you learn from it and it achieves the goal I’m trying to achieve. It’s big. I’ve never done anything like this and I really hope you see it.”

At the moment, Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill is giving Super Size Me vibes. The 2004 documentary film saw US filmmaker, Morgan Spurlock, try to survive solely on McDonald’s for an entire month. Needless to say, the outcome wasn’t pretty…

Who is Joe Wicks?

Joe Wicks is also known professionally as The Body Coach. He is also loved by millions as the nation’s PE teacher, following the Covid-19 pandemic.

During lockdown, Joe held daily online fitness and PE sessions from his own living room to keep children and adults active active. He went on to receive an MBE from The Queen for PE With Joe.

Joe’s debut book Lean In 15: 15 Minute Meals was a bestseller, shifting a whopping 900,000 copies. His YouTube page, The Body Coach, is one of the most followed fitness accounts on the platform.

Joe still visits schools daily to inspire children about health and fitness. He also uploads easy family recipes to his social media accounts to encourage his followers to switch unhealthy, processed foods for healthier alternatives. Joe’s new book, Protein in 15 is released this December.

It has also been announced that Joe is one of four famous faces taking part in the next Celebrity Gladiators special on BBC One.

Who is Dr Chris van Tulleken?

Dr Chris van Tullken is an NHS doctor. He works at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in London. Infectious diseases is Chris’ speciality.

Chris has appeared on various television programmes over the years. These include the BBC‘s Trust Me, I’m a Doctor, Holiday Hit Squad and Museum of Life. He was also the expedition doctor on Operation Iceberg and features on CBBC children’s show, Operation Ouch!.

Last year, Chris fronted the BBC documentary, Irresistible: Why We Can’t Stop Eating. This looked specifically at ultra-processed food. Chris told BBC Food: “I’ll still have [ultra-processed food] if I’m at a party, people expect me to be a terrible snob and refuse it but I’m not like that. But I genuinely don’t want to eat much of it at all.

“I have a real aversion to it. I was forced to learn how bad it was for me and so it holds no attraction to me.”

Chris has also slammed ultra-processed food in an interview with Channel 4, titled This is an Emergency on the channel’s YouTube account. 

When is Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill on?

Channel 4 has confirmed that Joe Wicks: Licensed to Kill will air on Monday October 6, 2025. It will go out to viewers at 8pm.

We will definitely be tuning in to see what stunt Joe and Chris pull off.
