Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators series 5 guest cast are putting DS Keeler in a spot of bother this week.

Sixth episode An Honest Fellow begins with case-cracking specialists Luella and Frank astonished to find the rival police officer asking for help.

His memory is non-existent from the night before and now somebody is blackmailing Keeler with compromising images. The person responsible, ‘Dr Ekeles’, issues instructions that the lawman must adhere to otherwise his wife Emma will be notified of his apparent misdeeds.

Assisted by local cabbie Irene, Frank sets off with Keeler to see out the instructions, while Luella and Sebastian Brudenell follow the trail of the mysterious Molly Essington.

But who is shadowing Frank and Keeler, how does hotel porter Warwick Samms fit into the equation, and what on earth is Billy ‘The Brick’ Porters up to?

Has Billy ‘The Brick’ Porters been in the series before?

Creeping back onto the scene for the first time in six years is Ciarán Griffiths as Billy.

A two-time Shakespeare & Hathaway star, the 42-year-old has embedded himself in the British TV landscape over the course of nearly 30 years. Yep, he started as a child star in TV series such as Children’s Ward, and Knight School.

Stepping up from minor roles in Emmerdale and At Home with the Braithwaites, Ciarán joined The Bill as PC Gary Best, clocking 163 episodes between 2002 and 2005. For a period, he played Dylan Hodge in Waterloo Road, as well as Shameless’ Mickey Maguire, The Mill’s Matthew Boon and The Bay’s Lee Ward.

Manchester local Ciarán’s two years on Coronation Street as Damon Hay reintroduced him to soap fans in 2022 – his dodgy character engaging in an affair with Sarah Platt.

More recently, he played Harry Brewis in series 2 of Ten Pound Poms.

Shakespeare & Hathaway includes Alan Partridge star

Next we have Susannah Fielding portraying Keeler’s wife. This Time with Alan Partridge fans will know her as Alan’s disapproving co-presenter Jennie Gresham in the BBC comedy, which parodied The One Show.

One-off appearences in Pramface, The Job Lot, and Drifters were notable throughout her early career, as was a role in Black Mirror entry Nosedive. In that famous episode, Bryce Dallas Howard led as a woman obsessed with smartphone user ratings.

Netflix subscribers may also recognise the 40-year-old as Olivia Thorne from thriller series Who is Erin Carter?, while she enjoyed a meaty role in US sitcom The Great Indoors opposite Joel McHale and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

She most recently portrayed snooty Susie in an episode of British sitcom Here We Go.

Born in the coastal town of Poole, Susannah happens to be a prolific voice artist too, credited across major video games like Final Fantasy XVI, Diablo Immortal, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Former EastEnders star Tanya Franks plays DS Keeler’s wife Emma

Shakespeare & Hathaway’s taxi-driving spy is brought to life by Tanya Franks, who will be very well known to soap fans.

The Southeast Londoner played Rainie Cross in EastEnders for 15 years, from 2007 to 2022.

She’s also a member of the institution that is The Bill, having portrayed DI Morrell for more than 20 episodes. Other notable roles include Family Affairs’ Karen Webb, Lucy Stevens in beloved detective drama Broadchurch, Jane Bison in Porters, and Tracey in the Inside No. 9 episode titled Zanzibar.

Tanya’s significant one-and-done appearances came in Skins, Ashes to Ashes, Silent Witness, and The Split.

Shakespeare and Hathaway series 5 guest cast: Zak Douglas stars as Warwick Samms

Zak Douglas has been brought onboard as hotel porter Warwick for Shakespeare & Hathaway series 5 on U&Alibi.

Previously seen in this year’s Lockerbie, Doctors, Ricky Gervais’ Netflix series After Life, and Ridley, the new recruit nabbed himself a recurring part as Dudley in The Larkins for seven episodes in 2021.

The Good Ship Murder, which airs on Channel 5, provided Zak with another supporting role as Jamil Al-Rashid. As did the Liverpool-based sitcom G’wed, in which he plays Mo-Fassi.
