Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Kingston supported as she gets emotional over performance
Alex got very emotionalStrictly Come Dancing star Alex Kingston was supported by her co-stars as she got emotional following comments from the judges.
Tonight (November 8) Strictly Come Dancing returned for the remaining celebrities to battle it out on the dance-floor. And this week actually even marks the halfway point of the show – with Blackpool not that far away.
However, it wasn’t the night that Alex was hoping it would be as she found this dance particularly hard. And when she arrived in Clauditorium, she got quite emotional.

Alex Kingston’s paso dobble
In her VT ahead of her performance, Alex told the camera that she had been struggling and it was “the most difficult of the dances” she had done so far. And that she really didn’t want to let her pro-partner Johannes down.
Alex completed the dance and admitted it was a “tough week”. And while the judges made it clear they believe in her, they could see it wasn’t her best dance.
Mosti Mabuse told her: “Okay, first of all, can I just say you look stunning. It is the first time I felt a bit of insecurity from you. You are always on top of things, at ease. I saw a bit here and I thought that is unusual for you.
“That being said, you move like a queen. You have such demand, such clear movements. You don’t need to be insecure. We just need the old Alex back.”
Judge Shirley Ballis agreed: “You said in the VT that you found it tough with this dance. I think that is what makes you a great student is that the steps you didn’t stumble on – and there were a few – you executed well.
In the end, Alex scored a total score of 30 – as Craig and Shirley gave a 7 and Motsi and Anton gave an 8.

Strictly contestants support her
When she headed up to see Claudia for her scores, Alex actually got quite emotional. To the poin that Claudia got everyone to give her a group hug.
But when she was revealing why she found it so difficult, Alex revealed she is numerically dyslexic, so she can’t actually read numbers. And usually, she would learn to dance to lyrics.
She emotionally told Claudia: “The thing is, I am numerically dyslexic. I can’t count.”
Claudia responded: “I don’t want you to be sad because you were excellent.”
Alex replied: “But you’re not supposed to love every dance. But I shall love this dance because it is drama. I am just used to dancing to lyrics. I didn’t know I can’t do that.”
But it wasn’t just the Strictly contestants who were supporting Alex, as viewers online were also heartbroken to see her so upset.
One fan wrote on X: “Alex crying absolutely broke my heart.”
Another penned: “JoJo and Alex’s relationship is so beautiful. When she said it was all about Johannes and she just cared about him it made me cry. I love their partnership.”
“Queen Alex, we love you” a third Strictly fan added.
A fourth commented: “The way Claudia got them all to group hug Alex was just so lovely.”
