The Fortune Hotel is returning for a series 2 – and this year’s contestants have been revealed.

Ten new pairs of holidaymakers will be checking into the ITV reality competition show this summer, and they’ll all have their eyes on THAT £250,000 briefcase.

With promises of “high-stake deception, and intense case-swapping”, fans are in for a treat. Viewers will also be able to dive even deeper into the goings on with a brand new vodcast, called Late Check Out, hosted by Ellie Taylor.

Here’s everything we know about series 2 of The Fortune Hotel and its all-important contestant line-up.

Is there a series 2 of The Fortune Hotel?

Following the huge success of the first series in 2024, The Fortune Hotel is returning to ITV for a second run. Each episode will see 10 new pairs of hotel guests trying their best to “crack the case” and work out who has the winning briefcase (stashed with cash).

Confirming its comeback, ITV said: “Get ready to check back in! The critically acclaimed reality competition, The Fortune Hotel, is set to return for a highly anticipated second series.”

Series Editor Ben Wilson added: “When The Fortune Hotel opens for business, get ready for sun, sand, and secrets. This is the ultimate party game made real. I can’t wait to see pairs of guests working together to outwit and outmanoeuvre their fellow holidaymakers. Let the scheming and case swapping commence!”

How does The Fortune Hotel work?

The second series will begin with this year’s 20 holidaymakers arriving at the hotel in pairs. Each pair will be handed a briefcase and eight of those will be empty. However, one will contain £250,000 cash, while the 10th will contain an ‘Early Checkout’ card.

Over the course of the competition, the contestants have to try and work out which pair has the briefcase full of money – and swap it, while also avoiding the early check out card. It’s kind of like poker, with host Stephen Mangan making cheesy quips in the background.

Every night, the contestants will head to Lucky Bar for The Night Cap. The climax of each episode will see them deciding whether to swap or keep their case. Whoever won the day’s challenge gets the chance to swap last, which is a huge advantage.

Obviously, the pair with the cash need to bluff their way out of suspicion. Those left holding the £250,000 prize at the end will keep the money. The pair with the Early Check out card gets the boot every night.

The Fortune Hotel has been dubbed ‘The Traitors in paradise’.

Where is The Fortune Hotel? Can you stay there?

The Fortune Hotel is filmed at the Silversands Grenada resort, which is located in Grenada. It is a luxury beachside hotel located on one of the Caribbean’s most southern islands.

The hotel is open to holidaymakers all year round, meaning fans of the show can stay exactly where it is filmed. But it will cost you. An Ocean View room this August costs between $600 and $1,400 per night, which is about £450 to £1,000.

Host Stephen Mangan returns

Actor and comedian Stephen Mangan will be back to present series two of The Fortune Hotel. He hosted the first series and enjoyed every minute of it.

Stephen said at the time: “We took over the entire resort and I got to have a very nice suite without having to pay for it. The presidential suite was bigger than my house. It took me four minutes to walk from one side of the living room to the other, it was that big.

“I had a balcony that looked over the ocean which was west facing, so every night we got a view of the sunset and sunsets in the Caribbean are incredible.”

Who won The Fortune Hotel series 1?

The first series winners were Jo-Anne and Will from Sheffield. The mother-and-son duo scooped £210,000 in their winning case. But in a sweet move following their win, they handed £5,000 to fellow contestants Samm and Aysha.

Jo-Anne and Will told their new friends to spend the money on a holiday and to spoil their kids.
