22 Kids and Counting: Ellie Radford's relationship with boyfriend Steven is on the rocks after romantic gesture hugely backfires
Steven was furiousSue and Noel Radford have to deal with yet more heartache in 22 Kids and Counting tonight after daughter Ellie’s relationship hits the rocks.
Ellie, 20, moved in with her boyfriend Steven shortly after they began dating and they’ve lived together for a year.
But things are not as rosy as they used to be and Ellie fears they could break up.
She arranges a special romantic surprise to help bring them back together, although it completely backfires.

Sue and Noel address Ellie’s heartache in the latest episode of 22 Kids and Counting.
Mum-of-22 Sue says: “Every relationship when they’ve gone through the honeymoon period hits the buffers.” Noel adds: “It’s a test to see how far they can go.”
In an effort to reignite the spark, Ellie takes Steven on a “mountain hike”. But when he gets there, he realises she’s fibbed.
It quickly transpires they will be walking along a wire rope between two 2,000ft high mountains. Ellie describes it as a “high adrenaline activity”.

Ellie admits: “I thought he liked doing the same things as me. But by the look on his face, I definitely got that wrong.”
Steven bravely gets into his harness and does the walk. But he says: “I really started to panic but looked down. I was enjoying myself until I was on the bridge. I’d been trying to act brave.”
Things then get a whole lot worse. Ellie reveals the only way down is to bungee jump off the bridge.
“You what? I just about managed the bridge and didn’t think it could get much worse than that,” Steven tells her.
Ellie goes first and Steven heads to the platform to follow. It’s very clear it is his worse nightmare.
“Walking out felt like walking out to my death,” Steven admits.
The instructor asks if he is enjoying himself. Steven shouts “No, I’m not. This is horrible. I think I’m going to be sick! This is horrible! It’s the worst thing ever! I don’t want to do it, I don’t want to do it!”
As the signal is given, Steven swears and shouts: “I’m bailing. I’m not doing it! I’m not doing it for anyone! Get me off, get me off. I’m not happy!”
Steven refuses to go through with it.
Ellie admits afterwards: “I did feel kind of bad for arranging to do something I thought he’d like for him to end up not enjoying.”
Ellie Radford admits she’s ‘lonely’
Later in the show, Ellie is home alone. She’s shown doing the washing and admits she’s feeling “lonely”.
Ellie says Steven has been doing “extra hours” at work. She adds: “If he’s not at work, he’s down at the gym. Well, at least that’s what he says he is doing.”
Ellie continues: “Being in the flat on my own is very boring. I thought Steven would be home a lot more but he’s out so it gets very lonely.
“I thought moving out into a flat would be a bit more exciting and that we’d be together all the time. But it’s not like that.”
