Amanda Holden suffered an awkward blunder during the first live show for this year’s Britain’s Got Talent series tonight (April 25).

The 55-year-old panelist returned alongside KSI, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell. Tonight, it was announced by hosts Ant and Dec that she was in charge of the live Golden Buzzer.

As the episode got underway, viewers were reintroduced to Mentalist Fraser Penman, whose act is a mix of hypnosis and mind reading.

During his performance tonight, Fraser drew on a deeply personal childhood memory from Amanda.

He began by asking her to think of someone important from her early years, then write their name down without revealing it. He then invited her to share a vivid memory involving that person.

“It was 1976, and it was the Queen’s Jubilee, and there was a massive street party in our road,” she recalled.

Meanwhile, Fraser handed Simon a piece of paper on which he had written a series of words. The first letters of each spelled out “mummy”.

When prompted to reveal the name she had written, Amanda said it was her mother, Judith. Fraser then asked her to describe her in a single word — before revealing he had already predicted it.

To prove it, Amanda turned over a white card, showing the audience what had been written on the back.

The audience was impressed, applauding Fraser. However, viewers were quick to notice a huge mistake Amanda made.

‘Get your facts right, Amanda!’

The Silver Jubilee was 1977, not 1976, Amanda?” one user wrote on X.

The jubilee was 1977 Amanda,” another person shared.

Queen Elizabeth had her Silver Jubilee in 1977, NOT 1976,” a third remarked.

“Queen’s Jubilee was in 1977 @AmandaHolden has fudged this?” a fourth said.

“Amanda Holden got it wrong again. She said the queens silver jubilee was 1976. It was 1977. Get your facts right, Amanda. Where on earth did she get that ridiculous dress from?” a fifth added.
