As Julie leaves Walford, EastEnders lines up two more huge exits next week - but who?

Who else could be leaving Walford?
Claire Crick

Today’s EastEnders saw Julie finally opening Nigel’s letter, something she has put off doing for weeks. But while she was nervous to hear what her late husband had to say from beyond the grave, nothing could prepare her for what was inside.

Julie had already told Phil that she was planning to move back to Scotland, a place that held happy memories of her life with Nigel. However, when she opened her letter from Nigel, she had no idea that he would have other ideas.

Julie read Nigel’s final message in EastEnders

With Phil’s support, Julie opened Nigel’s letter, and she sobbed as she read it aloud. In the letter, Nigel told her that he’d left her some money in an old pension. However, it wasn’t to be spent on bills. Instead. Nigel wanted Julie to go to India, a trip they had both planned to take together before he got ill.

Julie was overcome with emotion and offered Phil some of the money as a thank you for taking good care of Nigel. But Phil refused to take it and decided they needed to celebrate Julie’s upcoming trip.

The pair headed to The Vic, where they celebrated with Patrick and Kim. Alfie heard the news of Julie’s departure, and he suggested they should have a big ‘going away’ party in the pub. However, the fuss was too much for Julie, and she pretended to pop to the toilet, but instead slipped out of the pub unnoticed.

Julie left EastEnders

It was only when Phil got home to look for Julie that he found her note, revealing she had left.

Phil raced to the tube and just caught Julie in time before she headed off on her adventure. The pair said a heartfelt goodbye, and Julie reminded Phil to ‘look to the future for Nigel’ before heading off to catch her train.

Fans were sad to see Julie go – but unfortunately, she isn’t the only departure looming.

The drama continues next week

Next week’s spoilers have revealed that there could be two more main characters leaving EatsEnders.

Grant steps up for Mark when Max works out that he has been selling dodgy cars through the car lot, and claims he was behind the scam, and not Mark.

No one believes Grant, but soon the police are on their way after getting a tip-off.

Amongst the chaos, Grant talks about returning to Portugal, and Sam suggests she could go with him. The siblings have become closer again since Grant returned to Walford, and it seems Sam is keen to maintain their relationship.

But as the police arrive on Albert Square looking for Grant, time is running out for him.

Phil and Sam wait in the car, ready to leave, but will Grant escape the law and make it back to Portugal without getting caught? And the big question is, will Sam be getting on the plane with him?

"I leave every guy," she smugly declares to Rachel and the room of brides-to-be.

Gia goes on to explain how she moved to Los Angeles when she was 22, got "covered in tattoos" and "did Playboy".

She tells the girls she'd go to the Playboy Mansion "every weekend" and "have the buffet with Heff".

Bec Zacharia tries to turn the attention back to the group, by asking everyone to speak about when their last relationship was.

Speaking to the camera in a confessional, Gia snipes: "Bec? Is that her name? She was looking at me in a way that was, 'I hate this' and I was giving it back. Like, relax. You're a five out of 10, so chill."

Back in the room, Gia continues to talk about her beauty pageant past. Bec, meanwhile, says she thinks Gia's "attitude stinks".

But who is Gia Fleur? And what is her real name?

Gia's birth name is said to be Cassandra Lee Bassett. She was then said to have used Cassandra Lee as her Playboy name. Gia is believed to have used the moniker of Cassandra Lee Gallo for other modelling jobs, too,

Years ago, she used the persona Goldie Volpe while pursuing a rap career.

MAFS Australia 2026 has been airing Down Under since February 2, meaning fans over there are some way ahead of us. Apparently, it was Gia's co-stars who let slip her actual birth name.

One of this year's grooms, Danny Hewitt, is said to have let it drop during an episode of spin-off show, Stan's MAFS: After The Dinner Party.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Australia, Gia has since said: "It's a very sensitive topic, I actually changed my name because of a domestic violence situation I was in.

"It was a very dangerous situation and things have happened to me in my past. So people bringing that up as something to laugh about and joke about is not okay."

Gia admits herself that she's had cosmetic surgery to change her appearance. In her opening piece to camera she describes herself as "beautiful with fake [bleep]."

Pictures of Gia have also now emerged of how she looked before she went under the knife.

The TikTok account So Dramatic has shared throwback pictures of Gia and she looks completely different.

Back in the day, she had dark brown hair and we actually don't recognise her at all. One snap sees her posing with a fellow brunette girl and we'd struggle to tell you which one is which!

And another simply said: "Don't recognise her in the old pics."
