Britain's Got Talent fans question judges after watching Joan Thomas' 'beautiful' performance
An emotional performance has impressed viewersBritain’s Got Talent offered a range of auditions this week, from incredible singers to baffling acts, Joan’s beautiful performance left fans asking why judges didn’t grant her a Golden Buzzer.
Joan Thomas, who looked visibly emotional from the moment she stepped onto the stage, didn’t let her nerves get to her when she sang her heart out.
The 56-year-old wasn’t the only one emotional, as fans at home, as well as the judges, appeared to tear up at her performance.
However, Britain’s Got Talent fans can’t understand how Joan Thomas wasn’t given a Golden Buzzer, sending her to the live semi-finals.

Britain’s Got Talent star Joan Thomas impresses judges
The breast clinic nurse soared to the next round after receiving yeses from all judges after her rendition of Pie Jesu.
It was difficult to predict whether she’d be able to sing through her nerves as when she was asked if she could win the show, Joan admitted she can’t answer the question as she was too ’emotional’.

Her family in the audience were also holding back tears as they were praying for a good result.
Alesha told her afterwards: “It felt very pure,” and Simon added: “It was a great audition. Very simple, beautifully sung.”

KSI also sang her praises – pardon the pun: “You should be so proud, and your family should be so proud.”

Fans upset she didn’t receive Golden Buzzer
Fans at home seem to be in agreement that Joan Thomas’ performance was incredible, but that she should have had the Golden Buzzer, and not World wings who received it later on in the episode via Amanda Holden.
One wrote: “You could hear a pin drop. The whole auditorium fell silent during that performance.”
Another said: “All emotional now as we played this at my Mother’s funeral in February 2020.”
“I got chills listening to Joan. Stunning,” wrote a third.

A fourth penned: “Joan, that was a beautiful and grounding vocal performance. You’ve a gift if you can captivate people with nothing but your voice, and you did that. Well done my lovely.”
While someone else asked: “Hang on. No Golden Buzzer for Joan?”
And a second agreed: “Bet you any money they give the golden buzzer to a rubbish choir rather than to Joan who absolutely smashed that and deserved it.”

Christy’s love of scotch eggs divides fans
Saturday night’s (April 11) episode featured a variety of acts, including the Glantaff Boys choir, Rebecca Ryan, Darren Tait, James Phelan, Tracy Graham, World Wings, Simon Ratzker and Joan Thomas. There was also a moment where KSI was roasted by Ren DMC, as well as performances from Christy Coysh and 12-year-old Juan Carlos.
While several contestants impressed, it was Christy Coysh’s unusual scotch egg song that stole the spotlight. The comedian, known for his TikTok songs, performed an original track dedicated to the snack, quickly getting the audience on side as the judges joined in.
Despite the crowd’s reaction, the panel seemed unsure what to make of it. KSI looked completely baffled and pressed his red buzzer, later admitting he didn’t understand the act – and revealing he doesn’t like scotch eggs, which drew boos from the audience.
Alesha Dixon admitted the performance caught her off guard, while Christy joked that nobody expected it. Simon Cowell described the act as both “terrible” and “brilliant”, explaining that the show often embraces quirky moments like this. Although KSI refused to back him, Christy still made it through.
Viewers at home were just as divided. Some were confused by what they had watched, while others praised the originality and even called for him to reach the final. Others, however, questioned how he managed to secure three yeses.
