Did Celebrity Traitors 2026 star Maya Jama just reveal that she's a Faithful?
Maya is among 21 celebrities who have filmed at Ardross CastleMaya Jama has opened up about the biggest challenge she faced while filming Celebrity Traitors, admitting that staying serious in the show’s intense environment did not come naturally.
The Love Island presenter is part of the new Celebrity Traitors cast, which also includes Michael Sheen, Ross Kemp and Miranda Hart.
The series has already been filmed and is due to air later this year.
Maya Jama reveals her Celebrity Traitors struggle
Speaking to Grazia, Maya explained that being cut off from normal life meant the game of Celebrity Traitors quickly became all-consuming.
She said: “In Traitors you don’t have your outside life, so you’re completely consumed by it.”
That proved particularly tricky for Maya because of her naturally playful personality.
She continued: “I’m quite an unserious person, so trying to remain serious in that intense situation was hard.
“The only thing you can do in that environment is be yourself and hope it reads well.”
Maya also appeared to offer a possible clue about whether she entered the game as a Faithful. She admitted that her “poker face” is “not great” – although she stopped short of confirming her role.
With contestants expected to keep the details secret until transmission, viewers will have to wait to discover whether that poker face gave her away.
Who is joining Maya on Celebrity Traitors?
Maya will compete alongside an extensive celebrity line-up. Michael, Miranda and Ross are also joined by Hannah Fry, Joanna McNally, Amol Rajan, James Acaster and Richard E. Grant.
Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh and King Kenny are also taking part.
The remaining names are Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Myha’la, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
Celebrity Traitors will once again be presented by Claudia Winkleman. She will be back with her dry wit and fabulous wardrobe to oversee the banishments and murders.
Like Maya, Claudia – despite being at the helm – has also faced challenges while starring on the show.
Last year was the first series of the celebrity special. It was a won by comedian Alan Carr – and Claudia struggled to stay in character at times.
She admitted at the time: “All I wanted to do was chat and be friendly [with the celebrities] but my role is aloof and grumpy. I found it hard not to just sit down with them and have a cup of tea.”
