Emmerdale’s ITVX release sees Noah Dingle's surprising exit following 17 years on soap
Noah decided to take the job*Warning, this article contains Emmerdale spoilers for Wednesday August 5. The episode has not aired on TV, but is available to watch on ITVX and YouTube. But, Emmerdale has aired the surprise exit for Noah Dingle in the ITVX release, after 17 years on the soap.
The rumours were true. Jack Downham has officially left Emmerdale as Noah Dingle, having spent quite a large proportion of his life on the show. But recently, Noah hasn’t had that many storylines and it seems it was all gearing up to a surprise exit.
Earlier this week, Noah was offered a job in Dussledorf, but turned it down when he realised how upset Charity was at the thought of him leaving. However, things quickly changed.

How did Noah exit Emmerdale?
For a while, Noah has been working as an electrician, taking small jobs around the village and close by. But he has always struggled to find huge work. That’s something that has been playing on his mind for a while.
So, when the opportunity presented itself, Noah applied for a job in Germany. And earlier this week, it was revealed he had got offered the role. Initially, he was so happy about it, finally excited for a huge job.
However, his mindset changed when Charity was clearly heartbroken at the thought of her son leaving for good. Noah currently believes Charity is struggling with postpartum depression, but she was actually recently assaulted by Dr Todd.
After a chat with Charity, Noah decided to turn down the offer. So, fans were quite surprised how 24 hours later, he was suddenly leaving.
During this time, Charity heard just how excited Noah had been for the role, and realised she had to let him go. Having made the decision, Noah’s bags were immediately packed, and Mack was driving him to the airport. However, he did make a pit-stop to say goodbye to Cain, thanking him for being a dad to him.
And just like that, Noah’s time in Emmerdale was over. The episode may not have aired on TV yet, but fans already have their opinions.

Fans shocked at how quick he left
Taking to Reddit, some fans were surprised at how quickly it all happened. One penned: “This was a tad rushed, wasn’t it?”
Another added: “I love the way everyone on soaps can just pick up and move to another country in a matter of hours. Not only is the timeframe infeasible, but how do they automatically qualify for legal residency? It takes months, if not longer, of planning. But they do it overnight. How?”
However, a few fans were actually relieved to not have an exit storyline which would drag on for months and months.
One commented: “If someone says they are leaving and it drags on for a few weeks, I think it would be boring and annoying. So I think that’s fine. What bothered me about today’s episode was that, even though it was the final scene for Noah, who has been in the show since 2009, it seemed like Cain and Monty were getting more of the spotlight. The final scene even ended with a close-up of Cain.”
Another agreed: “Im just happy someone’s leaving the soap for a happy reason and not being jailed or killed off.”
