Celebrity Traitors' Nick Mohammed 'could only speak to his kids once a day' due to strict rules
One of his co-stars allegedly "kicked off" whilst filming the murder-mystery game
Celebrity Traitors star Nick Mohammed has revealed he was banned from speaking to his children more than once a day while filming the show.
The Slow Horses season 5 newcomer is one of this week’s five finalists on Celebrity Traitors. As the last of three remaining Faithfuls, he, Joe Marler and David Olusoga must correctly identify Alan Carr and Cat Burns as Traitors to win the charity kitty.
While many of the game’s integrity-maintaining rules are understandable, one of the stipulations meant they had just one hour’s contact with their loved ones per day.

Celebrity Traitors rules: Ban on phones
During a chat on The Comedian’s Comedian podcast with Stuart Goldsmith, Nick carefully avoided dipping into spoiler territory. However, he was happy to discuss the “infrastructure” behind Celebrity Traitors.
Nick has three children with his wife, Becka. She works as a music teacher and was back home looking after the brood while he filmed the show. They have two young sons, Finn and Arthur, and a daughter called Annie.
He told Stuart that contact during filming was brief, especially as all the celebrities had their mobile phones and tablets confiscated. “I was allowed one phone call a day with the kids, and we were totally cut off from the outside world,” Nick said.
But he added: “It is so impressive. Even if you’ve done a little bit of television, the way they build that show – so that you’re completely immersed in the game – is phenomenal.”
Celebrity Traitors star ‘kicked off’
Although they remained nameless, Nick told Stuart that one of his Celebrity Traitors co-stars “kicked off” over one specific rule.
“We weren’t even allowed to know the time,” he said. “So when we were in the castle, you’d be like ‘What’s the time?’ and they’d be like ‘It’s Traitors time.’ That was their response, every single member of production had to just answer with that.”
An aggrieved contestant claimed to their chaperones that knowing the time was a “basic human right”. “Tell us the time – it doesn’t mean anything…” they reportedly demanded. Luckily, that’s the only behavioural wobble Nick was aware of.
Despite that awkward moment, Nick described Celebrity Traitors as an uplifting experience. “It’s a really hearty show,” he said. “They don’t want people to clash. Everyone is nice, from different walks of life and with different personalities, but it’s a very feel-good show. The game is the game, and you do get drawn into it, even though it’s for charity rather than personal gain.”
Nick also expressed admiration for players in the so-called “muggle series”, as Stephen Fry dubbed it.
“When people are doing it to pay for IVF or something equally important, you think, ‘God, it must be really intense when you’re getting close to the end,'” Nick told Stuart Goldsmith. “That’s real, life-changing money.”
