The first episode of the brand new series did not disappoint thanks to its sinister games, scheming stars and a fair few belly laughs.
The cliffhanger has also left us with a huge question mark. But would you expect anything else from this BBC show?!
Here’s everything we learned from episode 1 – including who the first Celebrity Traitors in history are, and when the next episode is on.
***Warning: spoilers from The Celebrity Traitors ahead***
The Celebrity Traitors: Who won the first challenge?
The celebrities were thrown in the deep end from the word go. They were dropped off in the Scottish highlands in a field containing 19 freshly dug graves. Each celeb had their own headstone, which definitely sent a few chills up their spines!
Host Claudia Winkleman appeared and told them: “I’m going to be honest, we are starting as we mean to go on. We are starting with death.”
The celebrities were told they had the chance to survive the first murder by digging their own graves. Each grave contained a buried, gold immunity shield. The first six contestants to find their shields would be saved from the first murder.
They all quickly got to work, digging through the dirt with their bare hands. The first six to find their gold shields were Jonathan Ross, Joe Marler, Kate Garraway, Charlotte Church, Joe Wilkinson and Celia Imrie.
Who are the Traitors in Celebrity Traitors?
In the first highly-charged Round Table of the series, Claudia picked her Traitors. She had previously spoken in private to each of the 19 celebrities, asking if they’d rather be a Faithful or a Traitor.
The gang overwhelmingly chose Traitor, with only the odd few – such as Sir Stephen Fry and Welsh singer Charlotte Church – saying they’d like to be a Faithful.
Singer Paloma Faith said she wanted to be a Traitor. The mother-of-two told Claudia she wanted a change from a “lovely mum at home”. Hollywood actress, Celia Imrie, also surprised viewers and picked Traitor. She admitted: “The thing is, people think I’m nice. But I’m not. People have the wrong impression of me and that could be terribly useful in this game.” Olympic diver Tom Daley said he wanted to be a Traitor, too.
But Claudia didn’t go with any of them. Walking around the Round Table, with the celebrities blindfolded, she tapped on the shoulders of chat show host Jonathan Ross, singer Cat Burns and comedy legend Alan Carr. This officially makes them the Traitors – and they all wanted the job.

Who did the Traitors murder on night one?
The stars all escaped murder on the first night of Celebrity Traitors. At the first Round Table Claudia told them: “Would you like some good news? There is no murder tonight. Tiny word of warning, don’t relax too much. Tomorrow, the killing spree begins.”
There were big sighs of relief around the room.
Celebrity Traitors: The first mission
The celebrities learned of their first mission when morning broke. They could win £15,000 if they completed it.
The gang had to push a giant and very heavy trojan horse, inspired by Greek mythology, to a fire pit far in the distance. Along the way, they faced four massive locked gates that could only be opened by solving a puzzle or answering a question.
They had 30 minutes to complete the mission, which concluded with the burning of the horse. Once on their way, they discovered they could sacrifice a gold shield if stuck on a gate. Charlotte ended up handing over her shield to get through one. This lost Charlotte her immunity from murder.
The celebrities triumphed and set fire to the horse in the allotted time.

Who did Alan Carr murder?
Ross, Alan and Cat were told to murder someone “in plain sight” towards the end of episode 1. And it ended on a massive cliffhanger!
They had to find a ‘poisonous’ black lily somewhere in the castle. One of them had to rub their hands on the petals and touch a fellow competitor on the face, without anyone noticing. The person they touched would die from ‘a slow death’.
The trio agreed that Chatty Man Alan was best for the job. And, although he claimed to be nervous, Alan was seen furiously rubbing the petals at the end of episode 1. Unfortunately, that is as far as we got! It is yet to be revealed who Alan killed.
