Coronation Street confirms Jodie’s fate after shooting as she makes another threat to David and Shona: ‘Knew this would happen!’

Last night (October 8) Jodie’s fate was left in the air after she got into a scuffle with Shona – who believed her gun was fake and shot accidentally. However, it was very much a real gun and Jodie ended up on the ground.
Things picked straight up from there in tonight’s episode, as David and Shona scrambled to hide the evidence and get Jodie help. But just when they think they could get away with it, Jodie strikes again.
Jodie’s fate revealed as David and Shona face another threat
In tonight’s episode, Jodie was rushed to hospital. But before the police got to the house, David knew he had to get rid of the gun, otherwise Shona could be going down for a while.
DS Swain arrived to ask some questions, and David informed her that he and Shona were outside when they heard the gunshot. But by the time they got inside, nobody else was there. Naturally, Lisa was suspicious about it all – especially as their story implied an active shooter was running around the cobbles.
However, the pair managed to get to the hospital before the investigators, and were informed that they managed to save Jodie. David went on to explain to his wife that he dumped the gun in the canal (great hiding spot..).
While they were relieved, David and Shona faced an even bigger question – will Jodie actually cover for them? They headed in to see her, where she told them that she could very easily tell the police that Shona shot her. But David tried to remind her that without the gun as evidence, it would be their word against hers.
However, their chat was interrupted by Lisa, who was ready to take Jodie’s statement. She sent David and Shona out of the room and informed Lisa that she was ready to talk. But the big question is – what exactly is she going to say?
Coronation Street fans ‘bored’ after ‘predictable’ outcome
But Coronation Street fans were collectively annoyed by the outcome of the shooting. Not because Jodie survived, but because it was obvious David and Shona weren’t going to tell the truth. And once again, Jodie would get away with everything that has happened since her arrival.
Taking to Reddit, one fan penned: “What a ludicrous episode yet again. Surely Shona and David telling the truth would’ve been a lot more credible and believable. They had nothing to lose by telling the truth. Bonkers.”
Another agreed: “Now, we’re going to watch Jodie lurking around the Platt’s house and blackmailing them for another year.”
“It was so predictable. I’m getting so bored of the whole thing. Obviously Jodie survived and obviously nobody could tell the truth. Guess she’ll just use it to stick around” a third commented.
A fourth wrote: “Yeah, it’s so frustrating. They’ve given Jodie all the power once again.”
