Maria believed that Gary loved Sarah more than her
Coronation Street tonight (Thursday, July 23), saw Maria tell Gary that their marriage was at risk of being over thanks to Sarah Platt.
With Maria now knowing the truth that Gary helped Sarah cover up Theo’s murder, she fears he’ll bring the whole family down with him.
Seeing their marriage as being as good as over, Maria’s about to make a decision that rests on her visit to Sarah in Coronation Street spoilers.
Maria and Gary’s marriage at risk in Coronation Street spoilers
Tonight in Weatherfield, Maria continued to have a go at Gary for helping Sarah cover up Theo’s murder.
She wanted to know why on earth Gary would risk going to prison for his ex. She had a detective boyfriend who could’ve helped her instead.
Later on, Maria then had a conversation with Summer about the nerve of Sarah letting Summer spend time in prison for something she did. Summer reminded her that she had kids to think about and anybody in that position would’ve also done what they could to protect their family.
This gave Maria food for thought. She didn’t want the kids losing their mum if she got charged with perverting the course of justice now that she knew about what Gary had done.
She told Gary that she was going to withdraw her statement. Then the kids would only lose him instead of her too.
As Gary begged Maria to stay loyal, she suggested that he must be in love with Sarah and not her. It’s the only reasonable explanation for why he’d risk everything for her.
Gary told Maria that this wasn’t the case. He loved Maria and couldn’t do life without her. When Maria suggested that their marriage was over, Gary couldn’t cope.
Maria then told Gary that she’d decide if their marriage could be saved after looking Sarah in the eyes when she visits her at the prison. In the meantime, Gary could sleep on the sofa.

So, the future of Gary and Maria’s marriage lies in Maria’s visit to Sarah.

Maria visits Sarah and is furious to hear how Gary became caught up in Theo’s death. Under pressure, Sarah is forced to decide whether to keep protecting Gary or finally tell the truth about his involvement.
As tensions continue to rise, Maria is left reeling as she faces the consequences Gary’s actions could have for their family.
It appears as though the visit doesn’t go well, but what does this mean for Gary and Maria’s relationship? Can it be salvaged?
What else happened in Coronation Street tonight?
Lauren went too far
Lauren visited Betsy and helped her to go to the toilet. Lifting her back into her hospital bed, she then continued to push Betsy to report Dylan to the police.
Betsy tried to get Lauren to understand why she didn't want to, but Lauren didn't want Dylan to get away with what he'd done.
Betsy then ordered Lauren out of her room just as Ryan walked in to witness the tense atmosphere.
Christina got the wrong end of the stick
Christina heard that Todd was finding a way to get rid of Theo's life insurance as he didn't want the blood money.
She jumped to the conclusion that he was going to give it to her and George to help them to clear their debts.
However, she got the wrong idea and was deflated to hear that the money was going to Theo's kids. And, that Summer and Todd were off to Thailand.
Ollie's job offer
Ben was disappointed to find out that Ollie had rejected a job offer at a fancy restaurant.
Leanne came to save the day though when she offered Ollie a job at Speed Daal instead.
